Simply Calphalon Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

My sister bought a set of the commercial Calphalon about 3-4 years ago, and after seeing and using hers a few times, I fell in love with it! Hers still looks as brand new as mine that I just got. I have been wanting Calphalon since I used my sister's, but I had a hard time coming up with the money to buy a good set, so I kept waiting and looking. About 8 months ago, I moved with my fiance and we bought a set of cheap supposedly "nonstick" cookware, and it worked alright for a couple of months, then it started to rust and chip. It got so bad that particles from the pan were getting in our food. I was determined to buy some Calphalon, and when I recently saw this new Simply Calphalon at a local store, I had my heart set on it....finally a set of Calphalon that I could afford! Well, I was on the internet 2 weeks ago and saw an ad for Calphalon, so I checked it out at Amazon.com. This set was cheaper than the same set that I had seen at the local store, so I immediately ordered it! I received it 3 days ago and cooked all weekend, and I love it! The food doesn't stick at all...everything just glides on and off of it, and cleanup is so easy. I wash my pots and pans and put them in the drainer and 2 min. later they are completely dry! The water just rolls off of them, and the food cooks faster and turns out great! I would recommend Simply Calphalon to everyone, and my set is just like my sister's set of the Commercial line....it's just not as heavy(which is good for me). I love it...it is truly a miracle for me!

People make a lot of assumptions about Calphalon cookware. If you're expecting this set to perform like the ones you find in specialty stores, you might be disappointed. If you expect to find lots of completer pieces to match this set, you might be disappointed. This is a promotional set (ignore the "list price" because it's fictional), and it is substabtially lighter in weight than the commercial grade Calphalon.

I think this set is wonderful for everyday family use! They heat up quickly and evenly and I love the nonstick surface ... oil is totally optional and clean up is a breeze. Also, the handle stays nice and cool (WARNING: the handle on the lid does not ... ouch). With good care I think this set will last us quite a while.

I did quite a bit of research before choosing these pans and I couldn't be more pleased. I'm not a professional chef, just a mom trying to get dinner on the table. These pans heat quickly, cool quickly and hold a temperature so you're not constantly adjusting the stove. Cleanup is quick, another plus. If you're after snob appeal, get the professional set. If you're just a regular kitchen Joe/Joan, you'll love these.

I bought this Calphalon set because my old cheap-o non-stick pans got worn out. I wanted to get a good set of stuff without spending a fortune. I think this set is perfect for the price / performance ratio I was looking for.

I do not doubt the individuals that said this set was not as heavy duty at the professional and commercial Calphalon sets. But, I would imagine that for the majority of the people reading this review would be highly impressed with this product. For me, they cook heat up nicely, and cook evenly. I try to never use any oil or butter in my cooking and these non-stick pans works great. I have never had anything stick on them!

I was trepidations about the handles staying cool, but overall they stay nice and cool to the touch. The very base of the handles gets a little warm, but nothing to complain about and it will not burn your hands.

For me, the beginning avid cooker, I plan on using this set of Simply Calphalon cookware for many years to come.

Buy this set, you will not be disappointed. I ordered mine after trying out a single piece and reading the review of cookware in Consumer Reports. It was rated right at the top, just below the other Calphalon that cost twice as much. It is hefty and good quality and will last many years. It cooks very evenly, non stick and at lower heat. I love it.

if you are looking for a set of commercial quality pans, buy a heavier, higher priced set. For most people, this set will do very well. I love to cook, but certainly don't spend all my time in the kitchen. I've had this set of pans for four or five months and am extremely pleased. Food cooks evenly and I haven't burned anything, yet. Cleanup is fast and extremely easy.

I've returned this set. The pans and non-stick parts seemed on par with Calphalon (worth the two stars), but the handles are designed horribly. There is absolutely no thought of ergonomics in this set--the handles are a not very comfortable and it's basically like a metal stick jammed into the side of a pot. I shudder to think how badly my hand would hurt picking up the larger saucepan once it was full. I realize that I could purchase handle sleeves and pot holders and such, but at this price, why should i?

The 8-peice version of these pans were rated a best buy by the most popular consumer rating magazine (CR). They may not be as good as the $500 set but most of us don't need that chef quality cookware anyway.

This is an exceptional deal!! Calaphon quality, durability, and a very reasonable price. Excellent value!!
