This review is from: Simply Calphalon Nonstick 5-Quart Chili Pot (Kitchen)
This was my first (and last, I guess...) Calphalon purchase from the Simply Calphalon line... all the items I own are from the Commercial line. Accustomed as I was to the thick walls and sturdiness of my Commercial line pots... this one feels much lighter and its walls look so thin... even the anodized finish on the outside looks different. I'm not saying I don't like this pot... It actually has a good size and shape. It's perfect for making broths or boiling pasta for 4. If you need a pot with this capacity (5 qts) buy this one... just don't expect commercial heftiness from it.

good pot at a great price, January 24, 2005
This review is from: Simply Calphalon Nonstick 5-Quart Chili Pot (Kitchen)
I was a little disappointed when I received the Chili Pot. I'm accustomed to the heavier Calphalon Commercial pots. (Shame on me for forgetting to check these reviews!) In any case, my disappointment did not last long. My Chili Pot is exactly that...a chili pot. I use it almost exclusively for making chili. The non-stick surface makes cleaning a breeze. I actually appreciate the lighter weight of this pot. I would recommend this pot for its price, quality (with a 10 year guarantee!), and functionality.

Great pot for $19.99, December 17, 2005
This review is from: Simply Calphalon Nonstick 5-Quart Chili Pot (Kitchen)
This is a great pot for just $19.99, I bought two, one for one of my Kids also. They love it.
This is not a tall skinny pot, it has some Wideness to it.
95% of my Cookware is Calphalon Commercial, and yes it's heavier, but I think the couple of simply pots I do have , do the same job..
This pot to me cooks just as good as my commercial Calphalon.
I do like it that it's a little lighter, then my Calphalon Commercial, It makes it easier to handle when you fill it up.
The Simply has a 10year garentee, as the Commercial has a life time , but you have to realize, how offen are you going to use this pot that your going to ruin it, or wear it out!
I did expect it to be lighter, but some of you get over it, as you all knew that when you ordered it, it would be lighter also.
If you wear this pot as a helmet, it would save your head, so how thin of a pot are we talking about here??? Maybe one MM thinner then the Commercial!
Food does not stick to this Pot, it cooks even, its soooo easy to wash, its a middle size pot and it has many uses, besides making chili. You can put it in the oven for a roast, chicken ect.
Becareful as the handles do get hot in the oven as any pot would.
It's wide enough to make soup with big bones in it.
If you look around, there is NOT ANY pot that is this good for the money. All you would find is something at walmart that the inside would peel off in two months, and probably would not come with such a nice fitting lid.
I have Never had any problem with a nonstick Simply pot ever peeling off.
You bet I would buy this Pot again.
