Simply Calphalon Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

I'm on a crusade against Teflon (as much as one can be lol) and love the look and the durability of stainless steel cookware. However, for some inexplicable reason, most stainless steel cookware has handles that are also stainless steel, so the handles heat up along with the pan. Seeing how this is a huge inconvenience for anyone who actually wants to use stainless steel pans, when I saw this set, with silicone rubber around the handles, I knew I needed them. (Also, I'd been using my grandmother's Farberware pots and the handles started becoming loose, and they DON'T make Farberware like they used to lol.) $199 is a lot, granted, but you get a lot in this set, and the glass covers and the cookware is of extremely high quality. The pots and pants heat up quick and evenly, and they're heavy, extremely durable, and dishwasher safe. Calphalon for the win.

Sigh... What wonderful pots. They conduct heat fantastically, look smashing, and are just a joy to use.

Cleaning-
Initially, after cooking a few meals I became quite distraught at the staining and phantom residue that the pans were retaining. Scrubbing with a scouring pad didn't work and soaking proved fruitless. Inside of two weeks the pots looked "used."

With nowhere else to turn, I decided to purchase the product Calphalon RECOMMENDS for cleaning their pots, Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ.

Look it up on the 'net. This stuff WORKS. After using Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ my pots look BRAND NEW again. Don't forget to pick some up at the grocery store after you buy these pots. You won't be sorry.

Who would have thought that it's best to follow the manufacturers recommendations. ;)

I was given the Calphalon Wok a couples years back and was amazed with quality and even heat distribution especially on my apartment's cheap electric range.

I have had the same cheap Walmart bought Teflon pots and pans since moving out on my own almost a decade ago and they were all bent, cheap and flaking. I ordered these after much research and after being warned about the health risks of Teflon.
From just lifting the box, I could tell these were much higher grade pots and pans than I had ever owned before. Each pan feels and looks like it was built to last a lifetime. I know these are not even the top of the line Calphalon, but unless you're running a professional kitchen out of you house I can't see what these can't accomplish.
After cooking on non-sick for so long, I forgot how much better food tastes with a real sear on it. Just make sure you buy the bartender;s friend to keep the shine on them after cooking at high heat. I am confident I can pass these on to my daughter when she moves out in about a decade and they will still be solid and reliable. Maybe then I'll see what the higher level of Calphalon are about, but until then I'm just thrilled. Even the shipping was flawless.I was given a 5 day delivery window June 3-8. They arrived on the 3rd!

I love these pots! They look great and cook great. They are easy to clean and overall fantastic. Also, the price for a Calphalon set is pretty fantastic as well. This 10-piece set has all of the pieces that you would really use regularly. We did buy the 12" pan as well and a roasting pan, but you could probably get by without those. My favorite part: no Teflon leeching into my food. Happy cooking!

I don't cook much but I wanted to replace a worn-out teflon coated set. The Calphalon was highly rated and Amazon had the best price at $199. Now here's where it gets better. Amazon's outlet center was offering a used set for $150. I had some doubts about purchasing used but then I could always return it if I wasn't satisfied.

And I was pleasantly surprized when it did arrive. Still in the original packaging, it looked untouched. Finely finished with no blemishes or pitting, I have used it on several occasions with great results. Even without the teflon coating clean-up is simple. I bought a can of Barkeepers Friend but have yet to need it. You can't go wrong with this set of cookware.

ps: I got $5 for the old set of aluminum at the local recycler.

I Actually bought this set for myself as A Christmas gift. So far I love them I've only had them for almost a month but I've not used them Everyday .. I've heard of this brand for awhile before I purchased it and I wanted to try them like I said I Love the Calphalon line I also purchased the spatula set when I bought the cookware set.So far I love them I just wished that I could find a bigger cooker for my set. The one that came with it was not big enough to cook mash potatoes in. This cookware set is heavy and I believe it will be Durable enough for Everyday use..It say's dishwasher safe but I haven't put mine in the dishwasher I handwash every piece that I use And clean up with these pots & Pans are pretty simple. I havn't picked up the stainless steel cleaner yet but I think you will need it to keep these looking bright & like new..I simply ENJOY my Calphalon cookware set & the price was great also. I plan to purchased more from the Calphalon line soon..

This cookware set is beautiful...you almost want to just put it in a display case instead of cook with it...but it cooks wonderfully and cleans up very easily. For a 10-piece set of this quality, the price is a remarkable value...it's one of the best purchases I've ever made; I couldn't be happier.

I like these pans very much. I do not use them everyday since they have to be hand washed and polished to keep them like new. They cook very evenly and I love the see through lids.

I gave the set of cookware to my daughter. She had one Caphlon pan that I gave her a few years ago and loved the quality - always her "go to" pan. She was thrilled to get the set and so was her husband; who by the way is a restaurant manager!

I couldn't be happier with this cookware set. They heat evenly and cook beautifully. They are a nice weight - heavy enough to feel solid, but not like lifting weights.
