Larry Cox, Tucson Citizen/King Features
“Lisa knows a thing or three about the art of entertaining and she shares that knowledge in a splashy, smart new book…Cooking, she claims, should never be a chore since preparing food is a gift you give to people you love. She adds that fixing a cozy and romantic dinner is one of the sexiest things you can do. To help, she includes more than 75 easy-to-prepare recipes. This book is sassy, accessible, and informative. Beautifully illustrated, Simply Divine is as lively as Lisa Vanderpump herself, and presents a multitude of ways to personalize your gatherings with easy, elegant, and cost-smart entertaining. Her recipe for English Sticky Toffee Pudding is almost in itself worth the price of this dandy book.”

This book is a lovely collection of stories of Lisa's life, recipes, and tips on entertaining. It has a little bit of everything. I am a big fan of Lisa's style and was disappointed at the lack of pictures depicting her tips in her book in areas such as flower arranging, plating and staging of food etc. I think she sets beautiful tablescapes and gorgeous floral arranagements, but the photos in the book were what I would consider to be glamour shots of Lisa looking beautiful (of course :)), She was the focal point vs helping me garner ideas on how to create table settings or entertain in the Vanderpump style. Some pictures are included of her recipes. I would recommend this book to any Lisa fan, but I am not sure how helpful the book would be to someone not familar with Lisa and her featured style on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills if one is solely looking for an informative book on entertaining. However, her life stories and advice are charming.

Lisa Vanderpump is my absolute favorite housewife on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I love her elegance, her Brit, her sense of fair play and her whole character. She is so classy and so beautiful. The book is a feast for the eyes and the recipes sound wonderful but I have not had a chance to try them yet. I am still eating left-overs from Christmas. However, this is not a cook book you will want to get splashed on in the kitchen. I will copy the recipe page and cook from it. I love her tid-bits on her life and the stories are interesting, certainly a far cry from most of our lives, but what fun! Any Lisa fan will certainly be in love with this book.

I had the lovely pleasure of meeting Lisa "Vanderfabulous" at her book signing. She looked absolutely gorgeous. Her daughter and Gigi accompanied her. They were all very warm and nice despite me arriving 8 mins before it was over. The book is well written and nicely done. It's filled with TONS of beautiful pictures. If you are a true fan, then you will NOT be disappointed! It's done in true Vanderpump style with amazing notes and recipes.

Bought this book because I wanted tips on how to employ small touches to make a more beautiful home. We live a casual lifestyle, but through this book I realized that presentation of even a couple of cups of coffee can make a real difference when presented on a silver tray. These are the little things that make "everydays" seem like "special days". Her recipes sound delicious also, and can't wait to try most of them. Of course the pictures are gorgeous...just wish there were more of them. That would be about my only complaint. The pictures of darling Giggy were precious...love that little guy!!!

As a longtime collector of entertaining books, this was one I looked forward to purchasing and reading. I was not disappointed! Lisa is one of my favorite "Housewives", and I enjoyed seeing her entertaining in her home and restaurants; how the tables were set, flowers were arranged, etc. Lisa Vanderpump is every inch a lady and I especially enjoyed reading about her English heritage. Although I have yet to try them (I only bought the book 2 weeks ago), the recipes read very easy to prepare.

In my opinion, this book ranks high on my entertaining book scale; right up there with Martha Stewart's Entertaining, Phyllis Hoffman's Entertaining Touch and Gracious Tables, Letitia Baldridge's In the Kennedy Style and Paul Burrell's In the Royal Manner. I would recommend all 6 of these publications to anyone yearning and willing to learn the art of entertaining, cooking and setting the table. There are far too many publications out there that junk up the table with so-called "tablescapes" that one can't see where to put the food. These books teach the reader how to entertain in an elegant yet inexpensive manner. And all remind me of my beloved Auntie, who entertained in the same way.

The only wish I have is for Lisa to come to Montana for a book signing!

This book is fantastic. Full of great recipes and practical advice. It really does show how you absolutely can entertain in fabulous (make that Vanderfabulous!) style, without having to hire a staff of chefs to come in and create fussy food that nobody knows how to eat. In fact, I am making a couple of recipes from Siimply Divine tonight. Testing them out on the family pre-Thanksgiving.

Simply Divine is mostly a cookbook, but there are lots of anecdotes and stories from her history of entertaining and, of course, the restaurant business. Her writing style is funny, straightforward, unpretentious, with a few of her classic zingers thrown in for good measure. As most people who watch her on TV know, she's pretty much a down-to-earth, albeit fabulously wealthy, person and that comes across in the book. For someone who is looking for ideas on menu planning, table settings, party ideas, etc. this will be perfect. Personally, I would have liked even more pictures, but the ones that are included, both of the food and decor, as well as of Lisa and her trademark dog, Giggy, are fun and attractive.

The book itself is quite beautifully done....the cover, pictures and pages are quite...divine! There are quite a few recipes in the book that were very nice, and better than standard. The pictures of her home and trays and serve ware are absolutely amazing, I just wished she would have shared some of the stores she sourced from and I thoroughly agree with the reviewers before me....I wish there were more practical tips but this book is still a must have if you are a fan! All in all, I'm very pleased to have the book!~
