About the Author

Joseph Stowell is a teaching pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel in Illinois. He served as the seventh president of Moody Bible Institute for eighteen years and is an internationally recognized conference speaker. He is also heard weekdays on the award-winning radio Bible teaching program, Proclaim! Joe and his wife, Martie, are the parents of three adult children and ten grandchildren. They make their home in suburban Chicago.

Dr. Joseph M. Stowell serves as the 11th President of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Comprised of approximately 2500 undergraduate and graduate students, Cornerstone is a Christ-centered university with a passion for global influence through the transforming power of the gospel. The University is committed to creating an environment where students thrive both spiritually and intellectually as they prepare themselves to influence our world as followers of Jesus. An internationally recognized conference speaker, Joe has also written numerous books including "The Trouble with Jesus, Simply Jesus and You, The Upside of Down" and "Eternity." Joe also serves with RBC Ministries, partnering in media productions, writing, and outreach to pastors. His "Strength for the Journey" web ministry, www.getmorestrength.org, features daily devotionals, weekly messages and commentary, downloadable Bible study curriculum, and an audio library of his most requested messages. Joe serves on the Board of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Wheaton College, and has a distinguished career in higher education and church leadership. What I liked about this book was the fact that "it is not about me." We say we understand that statement but it is easy to let distractions prove us wrong. I like how the author makes it very clear what it means to really value Jesus above everything else.

Plus, he makes a great point about truly loving others by what we do with the people in our lives. The way we love others is a reflection of how much we love Jesus.

Let's just say that my faith has been challenged to really follow the Jesus I claim to know.

I happily accept the challenge because to gain Christ is everything.

Great book to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

This little book contains so many good thoughts. I have enjoyed it very much, in fact, I read it before I bought it, and knew it was a book I would want to keep, so I can reread it often.

I've just finished this book. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to get to know what it means to live your faith. It describes in such a wonderful way how to live an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. After all, Mr. Stowell is so correct. What else is there except Jesus Christ in the life of any Christian believer.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will probably re-read it. I couldn't put it down. It gets down to what it's all about.

Praise his Holy name!!!
