5.0 out of 5 stars One to today's best writers of romantic comedy!, October 20, 2004
Julia Boudreaux does not know how to be anything BUT wild and sexy. However, her deceased father left so much debt behind that Julia had to do something! Okay, she can do without all the luxuries and has already paid off much of the debts. (Shown while Julia was a secondary character in the first two books titled "Suddenly Sexy" and "Sinfully Sexy".) Yet she still has far to go. To that end, she decides to create a new TV hit, a reality show, where she is going to turn rugged West Texas men into sensitive guys.

Undercover cop Ben Prescott is shot in the thigh. Not wanting to keep his brother, Sterling, and his new wife from taking their honeymoon trip, Ben promises to remain in Julia's huge house as he recovers. Julia wants HIM to be her first make-over candidate. Of course he refuses. No one, including Julia, knows he is a cop and the last thing an undercover cop needs is to be plastered all over the TV or in newspapers ... especially while (once he is physically able) he is searching for his partner's killer.

***** I cannot express how disappointed I am that this trilogy is closing. This book, in my opinion, is the best of the three. It had me on the edge of my seat in some areas, diving into totally HOT scenes in others, and laughing aloud in still others! However, I console myself by repeating over and over "She will write another book. She will write another book. She will write another book." Author Linda Francis Lee creates realistic characters, each with their own set of personalities, and does it all in such a way that I come to actually care for the characters. When a book leaves you wishing for more, it is time to put that author's name on your "favorites" list. And Linda Francis Lee is definitely on mine! This entire trilogy is much like the author herself, OUTSTANDING! *****

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the three., November 9, 2004
I was blown away by Ben and Julia's story. I think this was the best story out of all three and I loved every one of them. Ben turned out to be an amazing man. Absolutly wonderful. It is really sad that this is the last book of the trilogy. Linda definetly saved the best for last and I hope there are more like this one out there or comming. This was a magical tale of love and was wonderfully written. It had everything. It was funny and the characters were written great. You got to see them grow themselves and grow together. Ben is more of a "real" man then you usually see in a character. And knowing Julia from the past two books, you get real insight into her, her life and choices. I cant say enough about this book. Ben was a dream. At the end, the last two or three chapters, had me falling all over myself. I could only dream of someone so insightful. The chemistry was enough to make me jealous and I cried at what he did for her. I had to go back and read it again. Then one more time. Needless to say, this is going on my keeper shelf, is now one of my favorites and I will read it multiple times. Its a page turner too. Like I said I cant say enough. I love everything abou it. There is too much praise for this book, this book is one that makes you wish.........

5.0 out of 5 stars Saving The Best For Last!!!, December 6, 2004
This is without a doubt the best in the "Sexy Series" and that's saying something since each and every book was great!

The chemistry and personalities of Ben and Julia were wonderfully matched. Ms. Lee is truly a wonderful voice in romance and her reads are not only fast but extremly entertaining. I managed to read this story in one day and was so sad to say goodbye at the very end.

The secondary storyline of Ben's was just as good as the romance between him and Julia. Both are wounded in different ways but see beyond the hurt of the other to what lays deep down. This was a very sensual read and one that I highly recommend without any qualms. For a wonderful read that you can sink into I suggest Ms. Lee.

Simply Sexy is a stunning conclusion to the Sexy trilogy by Linda Francis Lee.

Julie Boudreaux life has been in an upheaval after her father died. She had to let the household staff go, sell of the TV station, etc to pay off her fathers debts. Julia decides to change her wild and sexy ways but she hadn't planned on bad boy Ben Prescott making her rethink her new ways.

Undercover cop Ben Prescott is shot on the job and needs a place to heal. Julia offers to take Ben in since his brother Sterling just married her best friend Chloe. Ben is trying to deal with the recent murder of his partner but thoughts of Julia keep running through his mind.

Julia has an idea for a new reality show, to change a bad boy into a sweetie pie. As this is going on in her home, Ben is making a play for the former bad girl.

Ben and Julia both have problems from their past to work through. They have such a funny and witty banter. Their chemistry will knock you off your feet.

This book will hold a special place in your heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Really Good Read, April 24, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This was my favorite book of the three. It could be read as a stand alone, but really should be read in conjunction with the previous two books.

I loved both main characters and could easily see them together! Definitely a good read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Can she turn rugged West Texas men into sensitive guys?, May 11, 2006

'Simply Sexy' is the third novel of the Sexy Series by Linda Francis Lee. In this novel Julia finds herself the playing nurse to the brother-in-law of her best friend aka Undercover cop Ben Prescott. Does she not only need to and fight desires for Ben she is dealing with her father's death, mounds of debt and producing a TV reality show. Check out the entire series: Suddenly Sexy, Sinfully Sexy and Simply Sexy. If you enjoy this genre, I would also suggest, Flirting with Danger by Suzanne Enoch, Crazy For You by Kate Angell and Underfoot by Leanne Banks.

4.0 out of 5 stars The end of a great trilogy, September 14, 2005
By
"Simply Sexy" is the final installment in a trilogy of books about the women in charge of El Paso's struggling KTEX TV station. Julia Boudreaux's father recently died in a climbing accident. The only thing she has left of him besides a mountain of debt is the station (which she had to sell), her mansion (which she plans to sell), and a wild rose bush he gave her years ago.

While Ben Prescott, an undercover cop is recuperating from a gun shot wound, Julia offers to take him in so his brother and sister-in-law can go one their honeymoon. Julia, tired of her "good time girl" reputation, decides to become more demure. But that is not easy when you have a veritable "Petri dish of testosterone" sleeping down the hall. Ben is laying low trying to find out who murdered his partner, finding himself trapped in close quarters with a Donna Reed wanna-be. But every time they are alone, Ben manages to glimpse the old Julia, and tries to break through her facade. Julia is worried that "import/export" guy she has let into her home is really a drug dealer.

When Julia starts working on a new reality makeover show, Ben helps her find a contestant, so she will quit asking him to be her guinea pig. As she films her show, he keeps showing up, mostly out of jealousy of her chosen "primal guy." Being so close to each other eventually leads to plenty of steam between the two, as they come to terms with who they really are and what they both want out of life.

Lee is always manages to make her characters realistic even when they are thrown into unrealistic situations. Her dialogue is always crisp and witty, and not at all melodramatic like so many romance novelists who apparently own the same thesaurus. "Simply Sexy" is a great (but unfortunate) end to the trilogy. Though each can definitely stand on their own as a single story, you won't be disappointed if you take the time to read all three.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful contemporary romance, October 27, 2004
In El Paso, undercover cop Ben "Benny the Slash" Prescott seeks the killer of his partner when he tries to cut a drug deal with Nando Ramirez. He almost succeeds when all hell breaks loose and in the melee he is shot. Ben's brother Sterling and his new wife Chloe are willing to delay their honeymoon to heal him heal, but he rejects the idea. When former radio station owner Julia Boudreaux offers her home to him, everyone accepts though the patient is reluctant to do so.

As Ben heals, he and Julia are attracted to one another, but he sees her as a spoiled rich bad girl and she sees him as a thug. Needing an idea for a show, she comes up with makeover, a reality show to convert a bad boy into a caring person. Her first Primal Guy choice is Ben, who she wants to change from a "Petri dish of testosterone" into a compassionate individual. As she works on the conversion, they fall in love, but can their feelings overcome their first negative impressions?

The third "Sexy" tale is a wonderful contemporary romance starring two individuals who prefer people to think they are "bad" but actually wear armor to hide how they really feel towards each other and for that matter the world. The story line is fun to follow as Ben and Julia battle for supremacy as the superbad soul in Linda Francis Lee's third gender war. The return of characters from the previous tales (including by amusing email exchanges) adds warmth to a fine conclusion and a delightful miniseries.
