This book will be useless to me and my daughter. I rarely write a reveiw, but the glowing reveiws of this book are far off the mark, imho.
This book is NOT for crafty people, it's for people who don't have a creative bone in their bodies. If you really are crafty, you've probably already come up with 90% of these gift "ideas" on your own, as a teenager.
Sachets made of dish towels? Done that. In Junior High. Fabric glued to card stock to make your own cards? Done that, and have even had KIDS do it. Seriously, about the only original project idea in this book is the wonder bread apron on the cover, and maybe the Christmas stockings made of oil cloth, but seriously, who wants a PLASTIC stocking anyway?
The other major downer with this book is that about 80% of the projects require you to buy expensive specialty supplies, such as printable fabric sheets, iron on vinyl, and even silicone cupcake wrappers (about $10 each in my neck of the woods. Ouch.)
If you are adept with scissors and glue, but are unable to come up with any kind of creative idea of your own, this book might be for you. If you have ever made up your own project, save your money. I wish I had.

There's not one single project I'd make from this book. The "gifts" are tacky and juvenile. See wonderbread apron and heartthrob headband made from teen magazines. Read morePublished 12 months ago by Meg
I'm so glad that I borrowed this book from a library rather than spending money on it - although seeing what this book is selling for from 3rd parties here definitely makes sense. Read morePublished 21 months ago by shopgirl76

This is a cool little book! There were some fun creative projects to do that I would have never come up with on my own. They are easy to follow and most are easy to accomplish. Read morePublished on November 24, 2011 by R. Calhoun
The projects are really simple and great for beginners at sewing. They are original ideas and you can make them in a weekend (which for me is important because of work). Read morePublished on November 7, 2011 by kat

My daughter-in-law requested this book on her Amazon wish list. She received
fpr Christmas, and jumped with joy to have it.
Initially I bought this book looking for something a little different because it seems everything is "same-o-same-o" with nothing new on the horizon. Read morePublished on October 23, 2010 by J. Y. Bolger
