5.0 out of 5 stars my favorite yoga DVD
This was my first experience with a yoga DVD, and I liked it so much that I've started practicing daily. I've since bought more yoga DVDs by other people, but this is my favorite. I wish I could find different ones that Yolanda has done!

2.0 out of 5 stars Simply ridiculous...
Extremely, extremely (can't emphasize enough) simple. DVD (video) quality is bad. The commentator is annoying. Only a handful of unrelated poses. Not in a "program" format. A waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets Better & Better, April 10, 2007
I picked up a version of this set at Barnes and Noble where there's flashcards instead of the book included with the dvd. I would highly recommend looking for the flashcard version. They are nicely photographed on good quality paper. There are more poses on the cards then on the dvd so you could design some of your own routines. The dvd has one 30 minute workout. It was shot in a studio, probably hers. The background is simply laid out without being bare. There's a nice blue carpet and blue backgound. She is Australian and I would say has that British aspect of being low key. It feels very relaxing when you do the workout but then you feel it the next day. Overall the more I use this the more I like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Great, August 19, 2008
I could never do yoga until I picked up this set. The instructor has a way of making anyone feel that this is something they can do. Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous DVD when you only have 30 minutes, September 24, 2009
I accidentally found this book and DVD on a sales counter and I am so glad I did. I find it to be a wonderful class. I have many yoga DVDs but I constantly find myself going back to this one especially when I only have 30 minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yolanda is Simply Wonderful!, March 14, 2009
This yoga dvd is one of my favorites and was originally recommended to me by one of my students. As a yoga teacher I find it to be very soothing and still challenging enough to make me feel that I've accomplished something at the end. I liked it so much that when I went to Australia I took classes with Yolanda and found that she is just such a wonderful teacher and mentor. Yolanda's website is [...] and she has a new DVD coming out called YogaEasy with a new meditation CD as well. Yolanda tells me that they will be on Amazon in the next few weeks for purchase. YAY!

In my opinion, Yolanda is the embodiment of what yoga should be.

This book and video present a wonderful place to start on your journey into yoga. The video is peaceful and relaxing. The 30 minute yoga sequence is simple yet provides a great workout encouraging you to enhance your practice and become flexible in your body and life. I highly recommend this book and video for beginners. The video would also be beneficial in providing a gentle return to yoga for those who have fallen away from their yoga practice and desire to return to it. This video is wonderful!

I have the Simply Yoga DVD but I'm going to buy the book as well. This workout is uncomplicated and it works. Very easy to do for those who have no yoga experience at all. I tried a local yoga class and found it too fast, too competitive etc. I've lost 28 pounds doing my Simply Yoga DVD with Yolanda every morning! I wish she would make another one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful beginning Hatha practice, October 30, 2005
This review is from: Simply Yoga Book and DVD (Paperback)
Love this DVD, you can do the workout over and over and never tire of it. It is a great beginning Hatha practice and is good for restoring balance when you just aren't up to doing an invigorating workout.

5.0 out of 5 stars just enough yoga for starters, March 15, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you're new to yoga or returning after a long spell like me, this is a terrific entry level (30 mins) workout. Simple with a couple mildly challenging poses. Yolanda is soft spoken and encouraging...her voice mellows me right out! With the book, you can pause the dvd and add other postures as you feel up to it. Includes the sun salutation as well as about 15 others.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Relaxing, March 18, 2008

I think this is a good introductory DVD to yoga basics. It is very easy to follow and Yolanda's voice is incredibly relaxing. The booklet included has a few more postures than are actually demonstrated in the DVD. I couldnt understand why they did that because the actual DVD sesssion is not very long. Other than that, it is a good starting point for anyone new to yoga.
