I really can't say the width of my crack hidden from view though.

I blew out my first tube thinking I needed to squeeze the gun hard, but the valve was closed (Doh!).

I have specified Simpson crack repair products for my work as a structural engineer. This was the first time I needed it myself. I was installing an in ground basketball hoop and the plastic sleeve for the pole ended up with a slight crack around it after pouring my concrete foundation pier. I know what I did wrong, my concrete was placed with a too much water because I don't have proper equipment for backyard concrete operations (mixer, vibrators, etc). The sleeve acted as collection point/conduit for the water to escape my mix and voila: crack. It didn't appear a big deal until the full 10' height of the pole was installed and that small crack translated to over an inch of movement at the top.

I was able to use this product to inject the crack with epoxy, thereby completely solving my problem. The epoxy is much thinner (low viscosity) than what you are probably thinking related to off the shelf home improvement store epoxies. This material flows very well into small cracks, I would say it is about the viscosity of olive oil or vegetable oil, perhaps a little thinner. You do need to take care to fill your crack from one point only so as to not trap air bubbles by completely covering the top of the crack. I was able to fill a fairly significant crack (vertically about 20," length about 8," 1/16" to 3/32" wide) with one tube and plenty left over. I really can't say the width of my crack hidden from view though. I had bought two tubes, but only needed the one. This is a use once product, as you fully mix all of the two parts to use it. So have everything you want to fix ready to go before starting. Any significant amount left in the tube will get VERY hot.

This works very well, but when they say to use safety glasses they mean it. Do not assume that you will not spray yourself in the eye, because it can happen. I did not, but realized that it could easily happen. I used the product mainly for a crack in a wall, but I had some left so I tried it on a crack on the garage floor. It really works.

I am a Pro Contractor of 35 yrs.....Best advice (given previously) is to buy 2 extra tubes for your first time use and definitely if the back side of the wall is not going to be sealed with mortar. Look carefully for the 3 positions on the black valve as they are not very noticeable and the instructions do not indicate that the markings are there. I blew out my first tube thinking I needed to squeeze the gun hard, but the valve was closed (Doh!). I used a torpedo heater to dry out and bring the wall temp up (winter fix)....I think this helped a lot. End result...NO LEAKING! Also, keep in mind that you need to bring the product up to temp if it was delivered during the winter. One other comment ....I grabbed a caulking gun out of the tool trailer that was the closed type on the end, which meant I had to break down the setup to get into the gun (where as the black valve will not go through). I then got the open u-style gun, it made life easier.

This product along with the rest of the system pieces works great. Watch the video for step by step instructions. Tip... Push product slowly so it has time to flow into crack completely. I have fixed 2 cracks with the Simpson strong tie system, and have more on the way to fix 2 more cracks.

Nothing really wrong with the product, it just didn't work best for my needs which was a crack in a slab I was about to cover with vinyl tile. The crack was stable but wanted it sealed and tight. Unknown to me it seemed to run the full depth of the slab. A thicker fluid might have bound better to the crack and filled it. In areas where the crack was not as deep, the adhesive filled and hardened nicely. If I was more knowledgeable it would have made sense to insert a backer into the wider parts of the crack to address the depth.

So watch word is, very fluid product, so plan ahead especially f you don't have access to the both sides of the cracked area.

Pros...
This product was used to repair my ham radio tower. The tower anchor rods were installed correctly but 3 years of wind, ice and rocking motion caused the rods to work loose in the concrete base. I had two options...remove the tower to jack hammer the base or try Crack Pac. Crack Pac worked as advertised. After several wind events the epoxy is holding, no loose rods.
With the viscosity of maple syrup after a few applications it filled the voids around the rods. I was not concerned about the final finish, but it dried clear so it should be perfect for home use.
Cons...
A magnifying glass is needed to read the instructions. Instead of printing them on the box in several languages maybe include a printed booklet. I could not tell where valve position 1 2 and 3 was located until I spotted the pointer on the valve body. If they would highlight the pointer or show it enlarged in the instructions this would be great.
I just ordered another tube to fix the crack along the driveway apron.
