3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Quite Work, June 11, 2010
By
This review is from: The Simpsons 2010 Laugh-a-Day 365-Day Box Calendar (Calendar)
I've seen every Simpsons episode literally scores of times and never get tired of it. I'm not even among those who think the show has slipped in quality over the years. So I'm glad to have this calendar on my desk, but... Couch gags are sight gags. In writing, they're just not remotely funny. And the use of episode titles and numbers (such as "Lisa on Ice," 2F05) would be obscure to the most diehard fan; maybe even the writers themselves. Nobody knows those things, so the references in the multiple choice questions on most pages are irrelevant. I could swear this calendar was designed by people who take clippings from old scripts, and have never actually seen the show. The result is impeccably accurate, and utterly soulless.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lame, January 26, 2010
By
This review is from: The Simpsons 2010 Laugh-a-Day 365-Day Box Calendar (Calendar)
The "laugh a day" is simply wrong. E.g. - January 21 couch gag, "The family rushes in. They wake up and startle Grampa, who is sleeping on the couch."

How is that funny?!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good calendar-listing price TOO HIGH, December 25, 2009
This review is from: The Simpsons 2010 Laugh-a-Day 365-Day Box Calendar (Calendar)
I have been a fan of the show since it's debut 20 years ago this month December 1989.

When the show was FUNNY. In season 21 & just not funny guys.

OK, the calendar is good. You get to follow couch gags, Bart's chalk board comments & then trivia questions with the answers upside down on same page/date.

Price is TOO HIGH. $10.00 list price would have been more acceptable. It is $13.99 on the box.
