The Simpsons Exclusive Playset Moe's Bar with Duffman

To the person who was horrified beyond reason that this was marketed to kids, I would like to point out that this playset was not sold to standard toy store retail outlets but was originally released by Playmates as an exclusive to Diamond Select. Diamond Select is a comic distribution outfit that primarily supplies comic book stores and other outlets that primarily target an adult audience.
Playmates did this to avoid kneejerk reactions of purient minds who might beleive that a bar playset should not exist. Come on! It's Moe's Bar, a very frequently used locale from one of the best cartoon shows ever. Collectors have been DYING to get their hands on this! Playmates' fear of reactions like yours are exactly why this almost didn't get release and why this playset costs so much. This same sort of close minded attitude about toys/collectibles is why we'll never see a Balrog figure from the Lord of the Rings movies. I'd like to recommend the Care Bears and My Little Pony playsets for you, instead of looking at a cutting edge license like The Simpsons.
As for why Toys R Us is now carrying this item, I don't know why Diamond Select would basically backstab Playmates original intentions by turning around and selling their specialty store exclusive to a regular family oriented toy store. Nice going guys!

My husband and I LOVE the Simpsons. This show is not necessarily for kids and I don't think it is marketed for young kids. It DOES NOT promote drinking or alcoholism. If you've ever seen the episode with Duff Man featured, you'll know that Barney wasn't drinking because he was the designated driver that night. Simpsons is an intelligent cartoon for adults. Duff Man is a fun character is that off the charts. If you love Moe's, you need this toy for your collection. (Parents need to understand that just because it's a cartoon doesn't always mean it's for kids' viewing! Ex: South Park!!)

Anyone with an ounce of brain KNOWS that this collectible is NOT for children and has real arrogance to post a review shunning Moe's bar for having "adult-like" humor. If your so worried about having your child exposed to alcoholism then here's a suggestion: dont buy this product. It's not like your child, who is banned from watching the Simpson's anyway, will single-handedly go out of his/her way to get this product. If anything..Moe's bar demotes alcohol..with it's trashy/unkempt look and sarcastic remarks pointing to the nastiness of the place. You worrying babblers are not in control of society or how "open" other parents are to their children. The Simpsons and this toy are not harming society, they arent causing kids to take up drinking..they are bringing laughs to Simpsons fans and collectors everywhere. I am 13, my brother is 10, and my parents watch the Simpsons with us. We've started a new tradition of putting up the different Simpson toy environments and decorating our little Springfield with Christmas trees and lights every Christmas. It brings our family closer together..and that is of course what matters..Right?

Quite possibly the coolest Simpsons playset yet. And my Moe action figure is finally in the place he is supposed to be!!! And all the qoutes of Duffman are hilarious!!

How can you not love having a Moe's Bar diorama? Homer's favorite watering hole...in fact his only watering hole and the scene of drunken stories, crank phone calls, and much philosophizing. Moe's is one of the best Simpson sets around. Extremely detailed with the love tester machine, corner TV, Tap handles, payphone, heck even the exhaust fan over the door.

As with the other sets it is voice activated when a figure is pushed into the correct spot. The Duffman figure proudly asks, "Are you ready to get Duffed?" But of course the voice activation works with any Simpsons character. Those who negatively complain about promoting drinking just don't get it. These sets are made for collectors, not your 7 year old. Get a grip. Great set and a wonderful bargain right now on Amazon.

Moe Bar with Duffman is without a doubt the very best of the interactive playsets. Everytime I look at it I notice some new detail I didn't see before. The Love tester is there and this enviroment looks just like the TV version. Duffman is incredible looking. I can not wait until the Rerelease of Moe in the next series to Try him out in the enviroment. My only complaint is, it's more expensive then the other enviroments. It's no bigger, so this major price increase doesn't make a lot of sense. Still, I had to have it.

This environment is just the absolute best one yet simply because it comes with the greatest environment figure by far, and that would be DUFFMAN!!!

The attention to the small details in the environment themselves are hilarious. For example, it has the Love Tester Machine which although an inanimate object, was the main antagonist in one episode. It also has a sign that says "For a good time call Edna," which of course is bart's teacher, and also contains some other little gems.

If you are a serious collector order 2 of them because you are going to want to open this one right away and display it in your home office, cubicle, whatever the case may be.

My name is Max, I bought this playset because A. It has the pegs that most of my characters interact with, B. It has a Duffman figure which is an added bonus.
This is great, the phrases are funny and is part of the classic bar scenes in the simpsons. Whilst reading the other reviews about how this affects modern society etc is a load of rubbish. It's a toy! It's not like it says things like "Smoke cigarettes" or acts as an advertisement that promotes things that "Ruin society" it's just a toy for all ages, it may have references to alchohol but at the end of the day it's a toy based on a program that has a daytime slot on TV.

I bought the item since the prices are pretty good and to work on completeing my collection. All of my WoS Simpsons stuff is either MIMB or MOMC, so I was pretty happy to find this stuff for sale from a shop. I will say, though, the boxes are in pretty rough shape. The items inside are fine, perfect even, but the boxes have crushed corners and the figure's cards can be bent, creased, or folded. The sounds still work well, the paint and contents are not faded or dusty, and the pieces are as interesting as ever, but...

If you want the items out of box, you should be fine. If you are collecting the total piece, I'm not sure I would recommend Amazon.

Anyway, this little toy is great!!. The exclusive duff man figure is really cool. The detail is amazing like the T.v or the phone it's all here it's a great toy trust me.(It does not promote drinking in anyway).
