If you hang around long enough in just about any office, bar, dorm room, or other place people gather, you're bound to hear snippets of dialogue from TV's The Simpsons, plus maybe a few character impersonations. While the artwork on the show is certainly a lot of fun, it's the words that make the show. In this set, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie are dressed up nicely for the New Year and can gather in front of a backdrop of a Springfield New Year's jamboree. When placed on the platform, the characters speak lines of Simpsonesque dialogue, including Bart telling a well dressed Homer "You could be Abe Lincoln's father's boss." It makes for a wonderful display, and the characters are nicely detailed and speak clearly. --John Moe

After visiting my "lucky" Toys 'R Us, I found the Simpsons New Years Playset (3 of 'em!) on the top shelf of the action figure aisle. After bringing it home, I got a chance to really check it out. It is great to have voices from the entire family available at the press of a button. The whole family looks very spiffy in their holiday best. What I really like is the fact that the year 2003 is prominently displayed across the entire top of the playset. As a Simpsons/Playmates collector, I know these sets are hard to come by, but one word of advice to those of you still looking for it--DON'T GIVE UP! This is definitely one set to have at any cost!

I really like this toy. The whole family in one set! Who could ask for more. The figures are done up nice with some great lines. Marge looks like a million bucks. Homer and Bart as Gentlemen???? I guess Marge dressed them. Lisa in a red dress and Maggie with her party hat. Pass out the noise makers and lets bring in the New Year. It even has a picture of Barney in a diaper as the New Years baby in the back ground for a good laugh. Hope no one has to change him!!!!! A must for ANY Simpsons collection. Keep up the good work and great ideas.

This is a GREAT toy! Just wish it didn't have the year "2003" displayed since the Simpsons are timeless. Still, this will be sitting on top of my TV this New Year's Eve, helping me (and Dick Clark) count down the new year!
