The Simpsons Playset 2003 New Year's Eve

After visiting my "lucky" Toys 'R Us, I found the Simpsons New Years Playset (3 of 'em!) on the top shelf of the action figure aisle. After bringing it home, I got a chance to really check it out. It is great to have voices from the entire family available at the press of a button. The whole family looks very spiffy in their holiday best. What I really like is the fact that the year 2003 is prominently displayed across the entire top of the playset. As a Simpsons/Playmates collector, I know these sets are hard to come by, but one word of advice to those of you still looking for it--DON'T GIVE UP! This is definitely one set to have at any cost!

I really like this toy. The whole family in one set! Who could ask for more. The figures are done up nice with some great lines. Marge looks like a million bucks. Homer and Bart as Gentlemen???? I guess Marge dressed them. Lisa in a red dress and Maggie with her party hat. Pass out the noise makers and lets bring in the New Year. It even has a picture of Barney in a diaper as the New Years baby in the back ground for a good laugh. Hope no one has to change him!!!!! A must for ANY Simpsons collection. Keep up the good work and great ideas.

This is a GREAT toy! Just wish it didn't have the year "2003" displayed since the Simpsons are timeless. Still, this will be sitting on top of my TV this New Year's Eve, helping me (and Dick Clark) count down the new year!

I was so excited to discover this...actually I must thank my wife for the discovery. I was so enamored with the Main Street Toys R Us exclusive I didn't even notice the New Year one right behind it. My wife mentioned it later that evening, while we were looking over reviews and such of the sets, thinking I had seen it at the store too. Well, there was one left so we decided to wake up first thing and go get it. Man, it looks so nice with the main street set. Finally, a doublewhammy on TRU exclusives...I always miss them, and the main street is something that I have been waiting for for awhile now.

And the reason it is so educational is that it has motivated us to work on a display, that we've really been slacking on setting up. And putting together something like that is always educational.
