5.0 out of 5 stars Too much fun!
If you're a Simpsons fan, you will love this game. It's that simple. Real voices, real characters, real Springfield locations, all of them used to best advantage. For example: Marge barrels over Bumble Bee man with her F-Series, and quips, "I hope nobody saw that", or, "My bad". Homer warns his passengers not to sit on his nachos, or complains...

3.0 out of 5 stars This *is* Crazy Taxi
I saw this game at E3 and wondered if it was a joke or not. It is Crazy Taxi but with object models based on the Simpsons.

If you've never played Crazy Taxi, and you love the Simspons, then this game is definitely for you. Crazy Taxi's formula provides hours of arcady entertainment and is great at parties.

If you've picked up Crazy Taxi for another platform...

If you're a Simpsons fan, you will love this game. It's that simple. Real voices, real characters, real Springfield locations, all of them used to best advantage. For example: Marge barrels over Bumble Bee man with her F-Series, and quips, "I hope nobody saw that", or, "My bad". Homer warns his passengers not to sit on his nachos, or complains that he's swallowed his gum. Milhouse complains about swallowing his retainer, and Ralph informs his driver that a leprechaun tells him to burn things. Chief Wiggum is late for a beating, and if you run down poor Gil in the road he'll tell you all about his troubles. Do you see where I'm going? It's the authentic, situation-specific voices and characters (which I've only scratched the surface of) that make this game worthwhile. And combined with simple, fun controls and five or six huge Springfield neighborhoods, a Simpson fan will be forced to admit that he or she would have willingly paid a lot more for the experience. And if you're not a Simpsons fan, and are simply looking for a taxi sim, no problem. This is the one. Crazy Taxi is weak compared to this game--confusing controls, 2 whole neighborhoods to roam through, pedestrians that always seem to jump out of the way at the last instant, and a minimum of breakables...why waste the money? In contrast, mail boxes and shopping carts and light posts are commonly seen flying through the air in downtown and residential Springfield, and when you hit somebody, like the Sea Captain or Mayor Quimby or Principal Skinner, you both feel it. I'm a Simpsons fan, and I can honestly say that I can find nothing wrong with this game. Bottom line: you will not regret adding it to your Gamecube library. A worthy purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Woo-Hoo!!!, September 22, 2002

Hi-Diddly-Ho There! Ned Flanders at your ser-viddly-ervice!!!

The Game starts out with the Simpsons watching the news and they find out That Homer's boss, C. Montgomery Burns has bought the bus company and has made the buses radioactive. The citizens of Springfield won't stand for it. They are forced to turn their cars into cabs and boycott the buses, while collecting money to buy back the bus comnpany.

This is one awesome game. If you're a big Simpsons fan, like me, you'll love this game. One strange thing about this game is that its just like Crazy Taxi in every way, except there is a primary objective that must be completed to beat the game, (collect a million dollars to buy back the bus company.) You can play with about eighteen characters and play on six levels. As far as game play goes, it is awesome. Graphics are phenominal and another cool thing is that the characters sound and look just as they do on the show. Here are the characters you can play with (their cars and best asset are also listed)

Homer: Family Sedan (All around)
Marge: Convero (All Turning)
Bart: Soap Box Racer (Acceleration)
Lisa: Electric Car (Acceleration)
Grandpa: Go-Cart (Speed)
Professor Frink: Hover Car (Best overall) (My Favorite!)
Flanders: Station wagon (All Around)
Krusty the Clown: Clown Car (Turning)
Apu: Sports car (Speed)
Homer: Mr. Plow (All Around)
Snake:Lil' Bandit (All Speed)
Chief Wiggum: Cop Car (Turning)
Barney: Plow King (All Power)
Otto: School Bus (Power)
Moe: Sedan (Turning)
Groundskeeper Willie: Tractor (Speed)
Reverend Lovejoy: Book-Burning Mobile (Power)

And Six Real Simpsons Boards:

Evergreen Terrace (Where The Simpsons live)
Entertainment District(Where Moe's Tavern is)
Springfield Dam
Nuclear Power Plant (Where Homer Works)
Downtown
Spring Field Montains

There is only one flaw to this entire game, not all the characters in the Simpsons Show are involved in the game. other than that its perfect. So, what are you waiting for? Get it now!

P.S. Vote Quimby!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars SIMPSON's Road Rage, a good start for GameCube, February 10, 2002

This review is from: The Simpsons Road Rage (Video Game)
This is a good game to start off with on Gamecube. I just got my Gamecube and this is the first game I got. I love it. It helps that I am a Simpson's fan but I believe that everybody would like this game. Even if you just watched maybe 2 or 3 episodes. The main part of the game is Road Rage. The goal is to get 1 million $'s. It is really fun because everytime you hit a certain cash goal you win a prize, like a new character or a new starting location. The cool thing is you pick. The other cool part of this game is Mission Mode. There are 10 in all and at the end you win a certain prize(I won't ruin it for u), basically there are different missions such as knocking all of the newspaper stands down and then on the 10th mission you meet Mr.Burns himself. Personally, I like this game a lot. It does have some similarities to Crazy Taxi but in Simpson's there is actually a way to beat the game(getting 1 million $.) In Crazy Taxi there was no way to beat the game. Also, mission mode has almost nothing in common with Taxi. The Head to Head Mode(multiplayer) is also really fun. You can set the goal to 5K, 10k, or 15k. For each person you drop off you get 1k. One of the players picks the person up and tries to get the chararcter to it's destination while the other tries to follow the car and smash into it to steal the passenger. It's very cool. This game does have some bugs to work out like long loading times but it is all worth it. That's why I give it a 4. If I could have I would've put 4 and a half.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally great game!!!, November 24, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Simpsons Road Rage (Video Game)
This simpsons road rage is the coolest simpsons game yet!!! Although many reviewers compare it to crazy taxi saying it's a total ripoff, it's not. This game has over 25 different characters with their real voices and over 7 huge springfield levels. Simpsons road rage is its own different game, and with the help of gamecube's great controller, it is easier to handle, and has better graphics. Others who differ aren't a true simpsons fan, and if you are, you'll love this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Simpsons Hit The Hot Road!, July 22, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Simpsons Road Rage (Video Game)
The Simpsons: Road Rage is a great game with many great features. It gives you the humor and feel of the Simpsons world, while it also gives you a driving-skill type feeling. You can choose from three modes:
1.Mission Mode
Mission Mode is basicly a series of different challanges. In it you'll find different sorts of tasks/goals you must complete. If you complete them within a certain time limit, you'll clear the mission. Try to complete them all!
2.Sunday Drive
Sunday Drive is really just a practice mode. It's just the same sort of thing as Road Rage (see more information below), exept there's no time limit. It's a way to sharpen your skill!
3.Road Rage
Road Rage is (or at least in my opinion) the most fun, replayable mode. In Road Rage, you have a certain over-all time limit. You'll drive around a certain area (you can choose which one), and you find people standing with these blue, circular lines around them, creating a dome over them. Drive and stop in the dome to pick them up. They'll tell you where they want to go, then a hand will appear at the top of the screen pointing in the direction to go. It'll flash when you're almost to the passanger's destination. Their destination will be within some yellow lines. Drive and stop inside to drop them off. They'll then pay you for the ride. While you're driving someone, you'll have a seperate timer from the over-all one, but the over-all one will still be ticking while this one is. This one is a timer for the person in your car. If you don't reach their destination in time, they'll jump out and not pay you. If your over-all timer runs out, you'll get a Game Over and recieve your scores and such. When you get a certain amount of money (it'll keep going up as you spend money) you'll be able to unlock a new vehicle/character, or a new area. That's what keeps the game going and going!

Overall, this is an awesome game!!
I hope my review was helpful to you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simpsons Road RAVE!, December 30, 2001
By
This review is from: The Simpsons Road Rage (Video Game)
Now, when you look at Simpsons Road Rage, you think, "Crazy Taxi Copy"! But, it is not like those cheap imatations of Tony Hawk they've been pulling off.

The Simpsons: Road Rage is a total redressing of Taxi. Drive in Homer's car and crash into the Springfield Mall or the School. Drive over the gorge or see the World's Biggest Toliet! When you pick up characters, like Cheif Wiggum who says that he needs to go home because theives stole his police car, they say the most hilarious things! What about Ralph, you tells the driver how a dog barks or how his dad's car siren sounds like. Hmmm, and Lisa, who keeps digging everyone about "how she is apposed to the waste of fossil fuels, but really needs a lift". Imagine, riding around the local Nucelar Power Plant while Homer is supposed to be at work. Or, what about Downtown Springfield with a going-on-forever party?

This is only one of the features. Besides the Simpsons, everyone gets on the act. Groundskeeper Willie with his tractor, and Professer Frink has his Flying Car! With 17 vehicles and 6 neighborhoods, you gotta buy it!

And, there are even more stuff comin to you, like the Sunday Drive mode, a sightseer's paradise. And Mission Mode allows you to complete different missions to defeat Mr. Burns, who released a line of Nuclear Power Buses, which brings me to the graphics.

At the beginning, you can view a short that is exactly like the cartoon, except in 3-D. And, it dosen't have those pesky, words instead-of-voices routine. It is actual good footage with mouths moving, flexible movements, and no cruddy movements with objects like on the N64. And, the neighboorhoods are filled with locations just like on the TV show. Some may be out of place, and some are even only in one cartoon (Like the "Gold" house and Rancho Relaxo).

Okay, now down to the nitty-gritty! For Simpsons fans and Crazy Taxi fans, this is a perfect mix. If you don't like Simpsons, though, go with Crazy Taxi, since this is a total Simpsons redressing. I loved the game, and it is a must addition to your GameCube game list!

4.0 out of 5 stars From a Simpsons Fan, December 19, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Simpsons Road Rage (Video Game)
This game is a must have for Simpsons fans. It plays just like the old Crazy Taxi game but with a Simpsons twist. All of your favorite characters are there (except Sideshow Bob), from the Simpson family to Apu and Flanders, vehicles from the show like the Homer's Mr. Plow truck and even the famous "The Homer." I loved trying out all the different characters just to hear what they all said. You can recognize quotes from the show like if your driving Comic Book Guy and you take too long, he'll say "Worst ride ever." The voice overs are amazing and so is the soundtrack.

The Main story line is Mr. Burns takes over all public transport and the people of Springfield need to resort to taking rides from others in the city. There is a Mission mode where different objectives need to be completed but there are only 10 and if you can't beat one, you just play it 10 times and then skip it. Once you beat all the missions you unlock another vehicle.

The road rage mode sets you in one of 6 places in the Springfield universe, Evergreen Terrace is the only place avialable at the start. As you progress you have the oppourtunity to unlock new cars and people or unlock new maps to ride on. You only start out with the Simpson family (and Grandpa my favorite) but as you unlock new characters and maps in single player, you can use them in Head to Head.

Multi Player Head to Head involves you and one friend racing around a map trying to get the one available passenger. Once someone picks him up however, the other player can ram into you and take the passenger. This is where knowing the shortcuts on a map come in handy. Each passenger you deliver is worth $1000 and you race to get to a set amount.

Honestly, playing alone got boring after a while but I still love playing against friends and hearing all of Abe Simpsons funny things to say.
