5.0 out of 5 stars A great game, fun for any level of Simpsons geek.
I was surprised at how good this game is. With 800 questions and 200 "name that character" tests, quite a lot of ground is covered, from the obvious to the obscure. Each card has five questions, each question at a different skill level, and the level five questions can get kind of tough and specific (i.e. What was the name of the "gifted" school...

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Easy
If you are a true Simpsons fan you will be somewhat disssapointed with this trivia game. For someone who has seen all the episodes, this game runs by all to easily. I was playing the game with someone who had watched the series little and suprisingly they where doing very well, this led into an argument which went on for a few minutes. Well, I guess this is a good...

I was surprised at how good this game is. With 800 questions and 200 "name that character" tests, quite a lot of ground is covered, from the obvious to the obscure. Each card has five questions, each question at a different skill level, and the level five questions can get kind of tough and specific (i.e. What was the name of the "gifted" school that Bart went to in the first episode?). A player chooses his skill level for the game, which makes it fairer for players at varying levels of Simpsons knowledge, and thus more fun.

In addition to trivia, the game also incorporates elements of charades, i-spy, and pictionary-type games. This makes it a lot more fun than just straight Q & A and keeps things very silly throughout gameplay.

The rules and instructions for the game are written in the "voice" of the character we all love to hate, the know-nothing know-it-all Comic Book Store Guy. This makes for a somewhat convoluted, confusing read at first, but the game is actually really simple to play.

The tin is goregous with it's colorful cross-section collage of the cast artwork. I wish similar attention to detail was placed on the six-sided die used for the game, which is a mere white cube with stickers on each side, each depicting a simple black-and-white line drawing of the represented character. A nicely painted die would be way cooler, but now I'm just nit-picking.

All in all, a GREAT game! Required study for those hoping to attend Bovine University.

If you buy this toy, make sure you don't get the Tin 2 as well as it is exactly the same but in a differently shaped package! Now I have to pay shipping a second time to return it.

Three otherwise serious-minded grownups were reduced to helpless giggles by this game. We all agree that the Simpsons is the greatest animated TV show of all time. On a Geek Scale of one to ten with one being the lowest and ten being the highest, our cumulative Geek score is 29. So we had a blast with this. A couple of things: while the tin is a good, sturdy holder for the game pieces, the cast poster and the number key are flimsy and are going to wear out in no time. I'm taking them to the print shop to get them laminated, and I would recommend to anyone else that they do the same. Also, it is a major pain that this product can't be shipped out of the US. I have a relative living in the US, so I shipped the parcel to them.... Simpsons fans shouldn't have to work this hard to get their hands on a fifteen dollar toy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lasting fun for Simpsons fans, December 16, 2001
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Simpsons Trivia Game in Tin (Toy)
This is not just a collection of trivia cards - it's also an actual game, involving charades and a lot of visual recognition of REALLY obscure characters. I was dubious at first that myself and my friends (all educated, mid-to-late 20's) would actually sit down and play the game, and figured the cards would be fun to have around and sort of quiz each other for fun.
But the ability of Simpsons references and the fun of saying "Oh yea, I remember when Marge did that!" to bring grins to our faces swiftly broke the ice, and we were laughing it up in no time. The game is really fun, and the design (allowing each player to play a different difficulty level) is a great way to handicap Simpsons geeks like myself against tolerant but less Simpsons-saturated friends.
My only complaints are to second concerns about the durability of the character poster (which is necessary to play the game), and the fact that a lot of the game relies on knowing the titles of episodes, which only people who chat about the show on the Internet would know since the episode titles don't appear anywhere on the television broadcasts. This element is the one that shows the game is designed not so much for fans as for fanatics.

There are 5 different questions on each card. 1 is the easiest and 5 is the hardest. While 1 is very easy, 5 is VERY hard. Where I live they show the Simpsons 12 times a week, and I watch every one, and they are still hard to me.

I purchased this for a young Simpsons fan, and this game provided hours of fun trivia. Some of the questions are quite simple, but there are many others that you need to ponder carefully in order to arrive at an answer. If you wish, this also makes a fabulous collector's item, due to the fact that it comes in a tin which is beautifully decorated with those wacky Simpsons stars. Entertaining fun for basically any age, and you may be surprised to learn some interesting facts about the show when playing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for all you Simpson Fans..., June 22, 2002

My brother and I have been Simpson's fans for as long as we both can remember. Our obsession started when it became the first show we were aloud to stay up past bedtime to watch. Since then, it has become that thing we go around quoting to drive are less Simpson obsessed family crazy with. When I found this game, I thought it would be perfect for us. The game is played using trivia cards, and the first person to collect three character cards is named the winner. There are five different levels of difficulty, making it enjoyable for almost anybody. The only thing I didn't like about it was the difficulty level between the cards. Playing at level 3 was to easy for me, while moving to 4 was near impossible. Still, this is a must own for any Simpson fan.

I bought this for my 45 yr. old husband. He is a Simpson's fan. My kids love watching it. It really is a fun family game if everyone likes watching the Simpson's. The rules are a little complicated at first, but once you get in the swing of the game it is fun. There are different difficulty levels, so you can adjust the questions for young and old alike (all can play at different levels of expertise. If you're a fan I highly recommend this along with the books about all of the episodes. We had a lot of fun with this and my kids are 8 and 5. Enjoy this game!

I'm an avid Simpsons fan, my friends all think I'm completely obsessed, though I know otherwise... So, the directions are quite complex, we college students never have the patience to properly follow them, we tend to just break out the question cards and compete for most answers. It's fun enough, but not worth the $$ you lay down for it. Mine was thankfully, a gift :o) The questions range in 5 different levels, from way too easy, to impossibly hard.
