5.0 out of 5 stars Your Windows Vista help in a book
Windows Vista is Microsoft's newest operating system. With Windows Vista, Microsoft changed nearly everything. Most of the changes were minor, but if you were used to doing something in a step-by-step approach in prior versions of Windows, then there is a good chance that some of those steps changed or went away. This book is fully focused on Windows Vista and on showing...

2.0 out of 5 stars Ok for beginners but a waste for anyone else.
I am use to the old Bibles that were like 2000 pages and gave you everything you could ever want to know and then some in a format almost 1.5x's this ones. I flipped through it when I got it and its pretty much gathering dust. There was so much left out of this book that I really cant see how they could call it a bible.

A long winded, dry and disappointing book. Being new to Vista I was looking for something to help me understand the new features and allow me to make the most of this new operating system. Instead I got a detailed rehash of all of Microsoft's operating systems with a sprinkling of Vista thrown in. I think they were trying for the "most pages" record so they threw in everything they could think of. Glad I got it cheap. It won't bother me to throw it away.

Windows Vista is Microsoft's newest operating system. With Windows Vista, Microsoft changed nearly everything. Most of the changes were minor, but if you were used to doing something in a step-by-step approach in prior versions of Windows, then there is a good chance that some of those steps changed or went away. This book is fully focused on Windows Vista and on showing you how to get specific task done.

If you are new to Vista, then this is the perfect book to get all the information you'll need to get started and more. If you are an experienced Windows user, then this is the perfect book to have sitting next to your computer in case you need to know how to do something. Either way, chances are you'll find the book great to have when you simply can't figure out what you need to do when using Vista.

I'm the author, so after you pick up a copy of Windows Vista Desktop Edition, drop a comment here on Amazon or email me to let me know your opinion of the book!
