As a fan of the Simpsons who collects most of the show-related merchandise, I must admit I am getting a bit tired of the overpriced "exclusives" offered to various vendors by Playmates Toys. First it was Toyfare/Wizard World making a killing on their overpriced mail-in "exclusives," now Toys 'R' Us continues the tradition. Yes, I purchased this horribly overpriced item. For the hefty $40 price tag you would think it would be a larger size playset, big enough to display all of the mail-in "Be Sharp" figures along with the included Clancy Wiggum "Dr. Dolittle" figure, but this is not the case. The playset only has spots for 4 figures, so one of the figures (most likely the Wiggum figure) will have to be the "odd man out," and sit on your display shelf alongside the playset.

We have seen Toys 'R' Us exclusive playsets for years, and (for the most part) they have at least proven their worth by including 4 figures with each. This playset, however, gives you nothing more than is offered with any of the "standard" $20 single-character playsets included alongside each figure series. It definitely does NOT merit its inflated $40 price tag.

Having said that, I will add that it is a very clever set, and the included Wiggum character is definitely a keeper. He completes the Be Sharp series with an exclamation point. Had this set been more reasonably priced (and included spots for all 5 figures), I would have found no difficulty in rating it 5 stars across the board.
