4.0 out of 5 stars The best of the Sims 2 stuff packs
I still believe the stuff packs are overpriced for the amount of stuff they offer. $12-15 would probably be a fairer price. So if you happen to find a sale, definitely go for it.

3.0 out of 5 stars nice stuff pack but full of bugs
I really like the items in this stuff pack but it is full of bugs. Sims freeze in place or they freeze in bed. The coffee bar (barrista?) no longer exists. There is a problem with placing certain stairs inside a house. Those who prefer to build instead of playing with Sims will likely love this stuff pack. For those who play with Sims it can be very frustrating.

4.0 out of 5 stars The best of the Sims 2 stuff packs, November 26, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Sims 2: Mansion & Garden Stuff (DVD-ROM)
I still believe the stuff packs are overpriced for the amount of stuff they offer. $12-15 would probably be a fairer price. So if you happen to find a sale, definitely go for it.

Mansion & Gardens Stuff is by far the best stuff pack EA has offered. The three decorating styles; Second Empire, Moroccan, & Art Deco, are lovely. The flowers are shrubs are beautiful, a welcome addition to landscaping. I like how the windmill & solar panels will lower the sim's bills. The ceiling fans are a decorative object, but they do actually move so it's a nice realistic touch. I haven't noticed that they affect the temperature of the sims so they are probably merely decorative.

I love the Mansard roof pieces. It makes it so much easier to have attic space that my sims can live in without being affected by the weather. I've had issues in the past of them freezing or getting heat stroke if I had bedrooms in the attic with certain types of roofs.

Knock on wood, I haven't noticed any major glitches with Mansions & Gardens. What a relief. The grand staircases are very nice, but they sure do take up a lot of space. Your sims will autonomously slide down the banister. Usually we do not get any new interactions with stuff packs, so this was a nice surprise. Our sims can smell the flowers too.

The only thing I didn't care for is that some of the new siding is too dark and there's only a few selections. I'm not really fond of the screaming bright yellow. I wish they would have added some of the previous siding colors we've had with the new corner trim. EA could have made this a real expansion pack with more items and options and I would have been over the moon.

I'd consider this stuff pack a must for Sims 2 players.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite good!, December 1, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Sims 2: Mansion & Garden Stuff (DVD-ROM)
I've tried to build large homes for my Sims, complete with fancy gardens. I always failed. I was never able to make the grand staircases or have really nice gardens, but now, thanks to this new stuff pack, I can do just that!

I have all the stuff packs and expansions and I'll say this is one of the better ones. You get plenty of new elements, including the grand staircases and gardening items, plus lots of architechal gew-gaws, like stone lions and faries and the like.

Also you get three new themes; Morocan, Second Empire and Art Deco. Ever wanted to copy a painted lady house? Now you can! Want to recreate a Morocon pleasure palace? You'll have everything but the eunuchs!

The gardening stuff isn't quite what I'd wanted, but otherwise the set is grand and enjoyable! Worth every penny!

The Sims2 is a game icon. Each Stuff Pack and Expansion Pack add to the distinct flavor of this best selling game. I was happy to see that Mansion & Garden Stuff was more than just building supplies. It was also several new hair styles and fashions. While it is the last in a long line of the Sims2 Universe it plays well and deserves to be remembered as perhaps the best stuff pack of the entire fanchise for its original content and smoothness of play.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plesantly surprised!, November 20, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

I was hesitant to get this stuff pack due to the disappointment that I've experienced with some of the other expansion and stuff packs, but since I love to build and have been a Sims fan since the first version, I gave it chance. I must say that EA has improved from the last few released Sims 2 items (It seems their quality control department might actually be doing their job). I am very pleased with this pack and would recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly the best stuff pak they ever made, January 9, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Sims 2: Mansion & Garden Stuff (DVD-ROM)
I keep saying each time a expansion pak or stuff pak is released that that one was the best . Well truthfully if your gonna buy any (this coming from someone who has all paks and stuff paks to date) pak get this one. This had some of the most beautiful decor, object to date. If you love Morrocan or Art Noveu decor then this is the pack your gonna wanna have. They added ceiling fans, solar panels, grand staircase, even new ceilings, wall paper , few new hairstyles. Its like the grand hoorah before the sims 3 is released in febuary . If they were going to go out with a blast this one was it. IF your like myself and enjoy building nice estates, in particular brick estates get this. If your a gothic type morbid sim player and like your cemetaries, graveyards, haunted house things Get this there is some nice new wrought iron fencing in there for us who like our gothic sims. This is the pak that certainly is more then deserving of the maximum stars I would give it more if they let me. Ea does a good job with the sims if they'd just ditch then that be good too. In all their games and stuff are magnificient and like this stuff pak you can see alotta good work and detail goes into their products. I love this pak my fave. Thats all for now.

1.0 out of 5 stars If only it worked..., December 4, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Sims 2: Mansion & Garden Stuff (DVD-ROM)
I've installed and uninstalled and reinstalled this expansion multiple times. It crashes... and then it crashes... and then it crashes. Occasionally you're able to use it for a while before it completely kills everything, but more often than not, that's not the case. I love it, but I hate it because I'm not able to use it. :P
