university,

this game is absolutely fun beyond fun. the amount of detail they put in university is beyond comprehension.
before you even get to college, if you did good enough in your school work, you can apply for scholarships and get a max of about 6500 if you passed school with an a+. only teens can go to a university. you can pick three different schools of you choice. they all offer the same stuff. or you can make your own university. after you get there, you immediately become a young adult. you have freshy, soph, junior, and senior years to go to. each year has 2 semesters and each semester lasts 3 sim days or 72 in game hours or 72 minutes in real life. you are in school for a total of 24 days and while in school you dont age. you only become a young adult in college. if you dont go to college you wont become a young adult. you will go from being a teen to an adult. you can live in a dorm with other sim students, go to greek house (fraternity or sorority, you can be either/or without regards to what sex you are), or rent your own house on campus. living in the dorms is free, but it may slow your computer down a little since its so many sims on screen. i dont know if living in the greek house is free or not but thats a little bit better than a dorm from what i heard and having your own rented house is good to but its pretty expensive. you can have a roommate if you want. you go to class, you have to do homework assignments, write term papers on the computer, pick 1 of 11 majors (you can switch your major as many times as you want until you get to your senior year then you are stuck with whatever major you have and you dont have to pick a major your freshy year if you dont want to, but you do your sophmore year). at the end of every semester you have to take a final exam. depending on how much homework you did will determine your final grade at the end. if you get top marks, you will get 1200 dollars at the end of the semester in the form of a grant and get on the deans list. you can party a lot if you want and not do any work but you risk getting on academic probation which means you repeat the semester. you fail a second time then you get kicked out of school forever. you can drop out to if you want, but thats no good now is it? theres a lot to this expansion pack than meets the eye. you have to play it your self to really get a understanding of it all. as far as bugs are concerned i havent experienced any, so as far as i know there are none. i bought my version last week sometime so they probably fixed the bugs in the games. the other stuff you get with this collection is just that, stuff. just to add more to the core game. i highly recommend this game. the only thing with the university pack is that you dont really get anything else out of it except that you can start a career higher up than at the bottom like you would if you didnt have a degree. you only gain more money and maybe even some more friends. matter of fact that almost seems to copy real life colleges. almost.

I love the Sims, but this expansion and the stuff packs that come with it still don't have a lot of "stuff." I guess I got spoiled by the first Sims for PC and Sims 2 for PS2...seems like there was more furniture, clothes, decorations, and objects than I've seen with Sims 2 for PC.
But overall, fun game, great graphics, runs smoothly.

I have the collection version of each expansion pack and I only paid $19.99 for each of them at Target and Best Buy. Do not buy the game from here, look else where. But as the this expansion pack goes, it's really fun and you get a lot of cool stuff. It's a must buy.

Might Mess Up Your Computer,
By Rhian (Texas) - See all my reviews

If you've never heard of it, look up Securom. It's a fun little program that auto installs itself, hides itself, destroys your drivers, and creates backdoors for Malware to attack your computer. Sony created it to stop piracy, but never bothered to let anyone know it was even on any disks, or what the damage could be once on your computer. Any program that could possibly be used to copy/write anything is instantly disabled by Securom, including your CD/DVD drivers.
Apparently, Securom was secretly written into several Sims2 EP's, including Teen Style Stuff. Now, I have no idea if the TS here will cause the same problems. Stuffpacks that have Securom aren't supposed to activate the Securom feature until you try copying the game, but I honestly don't know. EA buried everything to do with Securom on their site last I checked, so I don't know if installing this stuff pack will come with Securom hiding underneath. There is supposed to be a full removal tool for Securom, but since it never even tells you it's installing, you have to wait until your computer is messed up before you even know Securom is on there. I've also found out if you have the Bon Voyage EP, the expansion with the most aggressive Securom on it, installing these stuffpacks that have Securom hidden underneath will leave your computer just as messed up as Bon Voyage will. There's something about that expansion that makes the stuffpack's Securom go haywire. Securom is currently on the following Sims games: Bon Voyage, Deluxe, Teen Style, H&M, and Pet Stories. As I said, there is a full removal tool for Securom on EA's site, but without Securom installed, those games will not work. You would have to keep Securom installed to even use the game you paid for, on the computer you paid for, complete with new glitches and system failures that you had no idea you paid for. University itself is a good game. It's got the standard bugs, but nothing unlivable. My beef is with the Teen Style pack. I've never bought nor installed that pack due to fear of Securom and what it could do to my computer, nor do I ever plan to. Most places aren't very clear as to whether or not the stuffpacks will damage your computer, nor are they clear whether when combined in these collections the Securom program (though virus is a better term for it) comes with it. It's up to you if you feel comfortable taking that kind of risk. I personally don't. I reccomend buying University by itself and avoiding Teen Style.

Great game. The only problem i Have with sims games is that when you uninstall them and try to reinstall is that they come up and tell you that the game is already installed and will not let you reinstalled the game. Most other progams will at least tell you that the game is installed , do you wish to overwrite. you say yes and the problem is solved. THis is not the case with the sims. I have at least 2 expansions packs that i can not use because of this problem. I have tried every thing and the only thing that worked is a reformat of the hard drive. And believe me sooner or later your will have to reload the program.

In this expansion, you can send any of your teen sims to college. To graduate, the student has to be in college for 4 years, 72 hours Sims time per year. If you get bored with it, you can always drop out of college. The benefit of graduating is they can have 6 aspirations instead of the typical 4, and get paid more for the same job a non-college graduate works. They can live in dorms or their own apartment, but not at home. College life doesn't seem especially exciting in my opinion, you have to complete term papers and assignments to be on the Dean's List, but classes are only 3 hours a day - the time your class is depends on your major.
There are 2 careers that you can only work if you graduate from college, I think it's Show Biz and something else.

This game is a GREAT buy, not to mention it's a smart one. It completely adds a new aspect to the game for teenage sims transitioning into adulthood. It's a load of fun exploring all the new features and content and I highly recommend it! Install this with the Apartment Life EP, and you have a great new experience to explore.

It's bascially like your Sim student has a job - they spend almost all of their time studying and doing assignments. You don't get to see them in an actual classroom. The class & tests times are random and often silly - who goes to class at 2 AM? And there are major bugs, with students disappearing from the game when you have them move out of the dorms. That's beyond annoying. You spend all that time getting them to grow up, go to college and do well and they're wiped out! Not fun! I'm sorry I wasted my time and money with this expansion.
