This review is from: The Sims: House Party: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
I bought this book, hoping that it would give me some insite into certain questions I had on little 'trivial (yet annoyingly persistant) question that arose with the House Party expansion pack. This book was obviously nothing near what I had been hoping for! Yes, it gave you a printed out list on the pricing of ALL the objects in the game, but who on Earth would need that?!?! I derived nothing I did not allready know from this game, which made me a firm believer I had wasted my money. The Sims is not an RPG, there is no *MIND BOGGLEING* test that you must accomplish to be able to proceed in the game. Having a guide takes away from the experience of discovering new things to do--BY YOUR SELF! Heed my warning, avoid this book and discover things for yourself!

This book has mistakes in it and left out several secrets!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Sims: House Party: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
This strategy guide is good for those who have limited experience with The Sims. I'd say 95% of the book is common knowledge for those who have been playing the game for a while. The party score section is useful, but the book has several mistakes in it. For example, it states that there is 1 way to have a baby in the game, there is actually 3; it lists 10 career tracks but there are 15. I buy these guides for the hidden stuff and I was extremly dissapointed with this one. The book only discussed in full the campfire secret, it completely overlooked the pink gorrilla, boxer etc.. and did not give any details about the celebrity guest other than to acknowlege that he's in the game. Buy House Party, don't buy the book.

One star for having the game on the book.,

It's not that it's poorly written or even that it doesn't have info but I guess I was expecting something that would help me. If you want to learn some strategies don't buy this book. common sense will tell you what they did. I was hoping for some real good stragegy but there isn't none. But if you do want to know little stats like how much your social goes down when you're at work then yeah this is for you. and the thing on the ghost with the campfire was neat. That's about it. But don't waste your money. You can figure this stuff out at the sims.com..

Good Guide,

I find this to be an incredibly good guide. Not only does it cover two games (original Sims and House Party) in one, but it gives excellent advice. It also has a bit of humor in one section (Chapter 8) The book has a total of 15 chapters, each describing something else. While one chapter goes into detail on Sim's personalities, another talks about throwing parties. Another chapter has a buying guide, with tips on what to buy, while another chapter is dedicated to telling you who can show up at your parties and how to get them to show up. The book also has pictures. This book is very helpful if you are having trouble holding good parties in the Sims House Party.

This book is really great for any sims gamer! I gives all kinds of useful info! I use it every day! I've read the whole thing billions of times, it even gives you a timeline on how to throw a good party! And I found this out from the book, but a moose head tells you how good your party is! If it's antlers are drooping it means your party..., but if your antlers are high up, it means you are throwing a great party!

By the game not the book! Everything in this book can be figured out in less then an hour. What also made me mad was that the new toys chapter left out some of the idems. By the livin' large stratigy guide to get just as much info on The Sims

The Sims second expansion pack: House Party,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Sims: House Party: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
The Sims House Party is simply awesome. It has 100 new objects, including boy and girl bathrooms, a riding bull, wierd telephones, a nice rug, a dancing cage, and a bubble maker.(plus much much more) This is like the only game I play, because it could last 5 years. I think every Sim fan should get this, and it deserves an applaud.......

I think this strategy guide is absolutely perfect! When I bought the SIms expansion: House Party, I didn't know what was in it and how I could handle it, but when I got this guide, it told me whats new and whats not. These amazing outfits, characters and themes made by Electronic Arts is simply a teenager's dream!!
