Without your knowledge or consent the Sims 2 Limited Edition will install SecuROM (a rootkit-style copy protection created by Sony) to your pc and it's near impossible to get rid of. It's well known for messing up hardware configurations. Steer Clear!

I hear people taking about SecurRom. and that at first made me nervous. But what did I have to be nervous about? I was not doing anything Illegal so it can be installed with my game, its not doing anything to me.

I was trying to decide weather I should get the deluxe edition or the limited special edition. But the limited edition won because it was 3 games instead of 2.
I brought this game, from another store, and I love it. you can't go wrong with this price. Game runs perfectly on my computer.

The review whining about SecurRom is a load of ****. I have already flagged it as inappropriate for this website. It is probably from one of the losers causing so much trouble at the message board at www.thesime2.com. Maxis has started a section on the message board just for SecuRom posts, and identified 32 people as being the ones that are making all the trouble. Each of them has started over 40 posts a piece to whine about it. Don't believe me? Go check out the message board at www.thesims2.com. It's a lovely game. I don't have this edition, but I do have the original edition, all the expansion packs, and all the stuff packs.

I bought this game for my kids since they have the complete Sims collection.

I have to say that the graphics are great by comparison, but there is really not a great deal to do that is different from the other game (yes, there are vampires and such, but .... ) Finding the cheats was important, because aging SIMS is an issue for kids that have created a cartoon in the image of someone they like or themselves. Not pleasant to deal with death in real life and this is close to real life as opossed to a shoot out game where there are bad guys, etc...

If you like to spend hours directing traffic (other people's lives) then this is the right "game". It is really not a game, it is a huge distraction from your own reality.

If we had tried it first, we would not have bought it. It is sitting on a shelve collecting dust.

*** Edit... I have to say that this game is seeing a lot more use now. Additional expansion packs have helped revive it.
