Sex and aliens. That's really all that was missing from the amazing original edition of The Sims, and the expansion Livin' Large delivers these new treats to liven up your beloved Sims existence.

New characters (including a gladiator and Xena-like warriors), and, more impressively, new decorations are the reasons to buy this game. The furnishings are mostly grouped by theme, with the medieval dungeon option the most authoritative of the bunch. (Little Cassandra Goth has been longing to read by torch light all along.)

Our personal favorite is the futuristic theme, with an optional, but expensive, maid/gardener robot to take care of the fabulous modern furnishings. Clearly the Sims team has been doing its research over at Herman Miller, and you'll have a bright red, flowing-foam sofa to show for it.

But it wouldn't be The Sims if only good taste prevailed. Bring on the mai tais with a tiki-heavy islander theme. There's also a startling collection of carpeting and objects best grouped under the design ideal we call "demented clown."

The attention-getting rarities include: a lame fortune-telling ball (our advice mostly centered around hiring a maid), a voodoo doll for hexing roommates, and a genie who delivers as much bad as good (dead plants, anyone?). And, yes, there's a vibrating bed to give your Sims the spice they've been missing.

While the expansion didn't blow us away, it did provide more of the humor and novelty true Sims die-hards will appreciate. With even more attention to detail than the original offering, EA deserves Sims-like applause for this edition. --Jennifer Buckendorff

I found this to be a great addition to the game play. New neighborhoods - FUN new jobs. The skins and furniture are a lot better. The robot to replace the maid is annoying. Yay for the vibrating bed, finally my sims can get the luvin' they deserve - but watch out you might get a baby! The clowns, genie, and arguing with death really ad a new (but bizarre) twist. However, the new wall papers are TACKY - perfect to create your own love shack. I do recommend this to rekindle interest in the game. Still, be sure to check out the 7deadlysims website and thewelldressedsim website for more objects and skins that are MAC friendly!

The Sims Expansion: Livin' Large is an awesome game! It adds SOOO much more to the Sims! Don't you get kinda tired of having the SAME Sims in the SAME town wake up, eat, shower, go to work, come home, eat, have some fun, go to sleep? Livin' Large adds MORE!! You get 4 extra towns for MORE Sims, you get MORE awesome skins, and new carreers! Plus, there are TONS MORE OBJECTS!!! (they say over 100 on the box...) This game includes so many new features, I don't know where to start. Oh, and I forgot about the new building styles! You can now make themed houses and neighborhoods. (I am a complete medieval freak, so the Castle themes were great!)

If I could have I would have put 1 Million out of 5 stars. What are you doing reading reviews???? You should not be doing this. You should be purchasing the Sims Livin' Large. None of these reviews will help you realize the awesomeness of this game. The only reason that I am writing this is to express my happiness over this game. This is the best game in the world. Purchase it write now!!! You thought the sims was great?!?!?!!? WEll, get ready for Livin' Large!!!!!!! A couple of very important things were missing from the Sims: some more very cool furniture(including the vibromatic heart bed), and some very cool new characters. One neighborhood was never enough, I found myself limited and I found I had to keep bulldozing houses in order to put in new ones. Now with the Sims Livin' Large my possiblities are endless. They have taken computer games to a new level. Will Wright (the creator of the sims) YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!!!!!! WE ALL BOW DOWN TO YOU IN GRATITUDE!!!!!!!! Every day as I play this game (for hours) I marvel at the wonderfulness of it all: the 4 new neighborhoods, the new walls and floors, the new oppurtunities ..., the amazing furniture, and the new characters.By the way THe sims House Party (expansion pack) will come out within a month and I cannot wait!!!!!
