Easy to follow book with tons of info., February 27, 2000
This review is from: The Sims (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
This book is really very helpful! It tells what those little thought bubbles mean, what the Sims are chatting about, what will make them mad, who gets along with who, etc. Also a great career guide and what skills you need to achive them. There is too much info in the book to go over here, but it was definetly worth the money. Nice lay out, although only b&w pictures.

Reducing Your Frustration Level Guaranteed, June 16, 2000
This review is from: The Sims (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
Playing The Sims can be both fun and frustrating. Why can't I get enough food into these people? How exactly do personality traits like being playful and being active affect moods, job performance, and social skills? Why is it really important to get a food processor? The book explains everything that the manual neglects. Did you know that each job has ten position levels? This guide shows you every level, the pay scales, and the needed requirements to progress from one position to the next. You are given much information on the results of almost every activity that the Sims indulge in. What effect does bragging have on building a social relationship? How do diagonal walls affect room scores? How can you get rid of Sims that you don't want? One technique is to have the tiresome Sim go swimming. When he/she is in the pool remove the pool ladder. When the Sim runs out of energy he/she will drown. Having read this guide I am now a calm, assured leader of my Sim population. I am sure that my Sim family is grateful for my improved skills - except when I drown one of them in the swimming pool. This is not one of those padded, useless guides that often accompany computer games. To me it's a must buy.

Great Book to have Even if you are an expert!, May 23, 2000
This review is from: The Sims (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
When I first bought the sims (LIke the review below mine) I killed my family, got my child taken off to military school, got robbed and many other things. I was not aware there was a strategy guide until one day in Best Buy I was looking for another game, and i saw THE SIMS: Prima' Official Strategy Guide. I was likw woah. I picked it up and skimmed through it. BOY! What was I doing playong without this. It had every little detail in there. A Job chart for every level of your sims job, what the little bubbles mean that pop up out of their head, a review and statistics on every item in the game, and just good old startegy. Now i have owned the game for about 1 month and the strategy guide for 2 weeks. One of my families have 2 top jobs (mayor, General) have 1,00,000+ and have lived in their home 1,274 days exactly all with out cheat codes. Abd they are always in a good mood. I would recomend this Manual to anybody that is a little confused, or a lot, an that needs a little help to do better, or to anyone that is great at the game and just needs or wants to see if they are doing everything right. Thank you for your time.
