The most useful thing about this book is the section on date interactions and the different NPCS that are available with the "Hot Date" expansion pack. To get to know the different people you will meet downtown and see which interactions and topics to explore in different situations. It allows you to get a great date experience without a lot of experimentation and time. Really useful for dating. For everyday Sim gameplay, the guide says some, but not a whole lot more than you get with your game manual. Also, the pictures are black and white, which is kind of underwhelming. But overall I would recommend this for serious Simmers who want to get the most of their social interactions.

I've been playing The Sims Hot Date many times since I bought it a month ago. I was in at a computer store and saw this book, and thought, "looks like fun, maybe it'll have great advice!". So I bought it there (I really should have come to Amazon, you won't find a lower price!). I've read a lot of the stuff that looked interesting, and skimmed through some weird charts and tables that you don't need to know about unless you're a total fanatic. I was confused by their list of townies that have unique personalities (i.e. The Romantic, The Flirt, The Wallflower) because I'm not positive that their info was truly correct. The pictures in this book are small and black and white, making the book somewhat dull. What I found stupid in this guide book is that it has the list of all the items you find in the sims and their price. Doesn't Prima (the publisher) know that if we wanted to see all of the items and what they cost, we could just go to objects section of the game and see the exact same info??? Also, just to straighten something out, this book has absolutely nothing to do with everything in the other expansions. It does not give any advice or info on things from House Party and Livin' Large. I just want to warn you because I assumed it would. Overall, I don't think I'll need to refer to this book often. It's probably a good pick for people really new to the Sims games, but not for someone already familiar with the game. I hope you've found my review useful. Once again, if you do want this book, a 12 dollar price is fantastic!

This is a excellent book to help your dating skills in "The Sims Hot-Date". It provides very useful information about how to act downtown, what to do, how to act on a date, what to say, and basically anything you need to know inorder to succeed.

It contains a section about the Hot-Date EP as well as an Introduction to the Sims. Some people might find the intro a little repetitive but again, it also gives very helpful tips on how to succeed in the regular house as well.

Overall it is a great book for reference for the game. You won't be disappointed. Pick it up, and if you do, youll be dating and marrying the whole town!

THis is a great strategy guide. It lists all the new items in Hot Date along with all the items in the original Sims. It explains all the new interaction, and all the townies. This book is worth it!!

If you've played this game for an hour, you will already know 99% of ehat they write about in this book. My expectation was for that of a STRATEGY guide, not a "how to".

this book is a great guide and it really help me understand more of the game. since im new to sims i had to buy 2 games(sims and hot date) this book intrudced me to the world of sims! thankyou hot date it feels good to date

I found the list explaining the new characters and new social interactions very useful. The object list is very basic (original Sims and Hot Date objects only), and you can find things like the cheats on fan sites easily. However, it was also useful in keeping track of which objects were original Maxis objects since I have collected so many fan site objects now! I was, however, somewhat disappointed that no living large objects or house party objects were mentioned in this guide. Then again, it is possible to own hot date without ever having owned living large, SIMS DELUXE, or house party. (Not as much fun though, and if you purchase these expansion packs later, chances are you will have to reinstall your game (be sure to back up your neighborhoods and downloaded custom objects, skins, walls, floors etc. first BEFORE reinstalling). So I recommend to get the prior expansion packs first to avoid the hassle of reinstalling.)

It' a cool expansion, where your Sims will fall in love or hate themselves. You will find the right person for your Sims and develope the same interest if you want that some one fall in love with your Sims. This is a great game!!! Then, you have to buy "Vacation", where your families will go together in a cool trip for the weekend, and they will be more close to themselves. I recomend it 100%.

In The Sims Hot Date, you could go to downtown and shop, shop, shop!! You could even make your Sims couple kiss,hug,cuddles or maybe just fool around, in the tub or not. Make your guy Sims to caress gal Sims and thay'll be madly in love with each other...
New stuff is in store. New faces, new clothes, new people or maybe some new jobs.
Eat them out to a posh restaurant or maybe just eat some ice cream together or buy a box of chocolate to bring home for the kids....that is if you HAVE one!!

So, come on and buy this cool game and you'll wish you were a Sim!!

Imagine being in a club, you see the guy of your dreams, dancing with his lady. Well in The Sims Hot Date, you walk up to your guy, start a conversation, and just take him away, and if you are very bad, you feed him, dance with him, and take him home with you.
Create a neighborhood of wild women who take what they want. They even have a "make out couch", and the hot tubs are made for love. What is there not to like about this?
