Useful and Entertaining,
By Melinda M. (Minneapolis, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sims 2: Seasons: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback)
I like to buy game guides when a game first comes out because often times there is limited and unreliable information available online. Once the game has been out for a few months these books tend to loose their usefulness as well written online guides become available for free.
Having said that, I felt this guide was worth buying because the Seasons Expansion Pack has so many new elements. As always with Prima Guides it is well written and has an easy to follow format. Although some players may prefer the challenge of discovering every nuance of the game for themselves, people like me, who may have limited time to play, are able to use these guides to get the most out of the game in a short while. Whether you choose to read this guide cover to cover, or use it simply as a reference for when you have a question I think that it will be a useful tool towards getting the most enjoyment out of your game.

Informative and Comprehensive,

This review is from: Sims 2: Seasons: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback)
I ordered this along with the game, because I knew I wouldn't figure out 1/4 of the stuff for "Seasons" on my own. I read through the entire guide, and found it all very informative, and for the most part very comprehensive & easy-to-understand (I had to re-read some of the weather information, but just because it got so in-depth). The chapter on gardening (Chapter 4: The Sim's Guide to Gardening and Fishing) was essential for figuring out how to raise good crops, & it has all sorts of interesting hints and tips that I probably never would have figured out myself. I still tend to flip through the book while I play, and help refresh my memory. Not only does it explain about fishing & gardening, & the weather, but also the new plantSims, the new neighborhood Riverblossom Hills & its occupants; Build Mode additions; Buy Mode additions; new Career tracks; new interactions and Socials, & a lot more. For less than $14, it's quite worth it.

Great Game,
By Alana (Pittsburgh, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sims 2: Seasons: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback)
I love the Sims 2 Seasons, I think it's the best expansion yet, most fun, and Greg Kramer's books tell you how to make the best use out of it. He'll tell you, for example, how to make the juices that help kids study faster, cure colds, and all that jazz. To make the juice, you need to know what ingredients you need, and this book has that infomation, as well as how to make $20 from every boot you fish and $150 from a single fish. This book has less hints/cheats then the others, I think, but like all, it tells you how to get the best out of the expanison pack. It's a must have if you really want to know how to use all aspects of Seasons

This guide helped us with alot of things within our game. Especially when and what to plant during each season.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sims 2: Seasons: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback)
I purchased the Prima guide for Sims 2: Seasons because I often miss out on the 'hidden features' in sims 2 expansions. I enjoyed the guide and found some interesting tips- but I was disappointed in the 'magazine quality' of the pages. For the cost of the book, Prima Games could invest in a sturdier page stock- after 1 cover to cover read, the pages looked a tad warped.
The tips were good and the pictures great, but I was disappointed in the overall quality of the guide. 4 star content. 2 Star quality.

Full length expansion,
This review is from: Sims 2: Seasons: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback)
I learned a great lesson with this expansion. Save your Sims2 that you have already been playing and then download your expansion. This particular expansion is large and can really screw up your game if you don't. Because of the graphics, the actual weather does come with lightning storms, snow, etc. it takes a lot of RAM. So, just take precautions and you should enjoy this expansion. Suggestions: Don't add a ton of trees to your property - when lightning strikes, it can hit one of your trees and a huge fire takes place. So, especially don't put a tree right next to your house!!

Very Helpful,
This review is from: Sims 2: Seasons: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback)
This guide was very helpful in that it gave insight to a great deal of new things the Seasons Expansion Pack had to offer. Without the guide it would have taken me some time to find and utilize these new features. Knowing about the new features and how they work made gameplay much more interesting. The guide has a great layout for finding things.

I've only had time to skim through the book but already I am learning things I didn't know before and wouldn't of been able to find without hours and hours of playing. My only gripe about the book would be that it's bigger than a normal sized magazine and therefore very bulky and akward to skim through. I used to have the Sims 2 guide and I found that it was the perfect size to skim through. There is also some either repeat information or information that is completely useless and can be found in the game (the new furniture and their cost, etc.)

Finally!!!,
This review is from: Sims 2: Seasons: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback)
I couldn't find this in stores and was really happy to see it on Amazon. The information on gardening is very helpful. The book also cleared up what "Plantsimism" is, and I like the information on the new careers. I would definately recommend this to anyone.
