This is the latest in the Prima's series of Official Strategy Guides for the Sims and it's expansion packs. As with the previous books for the expansion packs, the first half of the book deals with the basic strategies of playing The Sims regardless what expansion packs you have. If you've bought a previous book in the Prima series, you'll want to go right to the second half of the book.

There's not a lot of earth-shaking information here. A Sims junkie with any Internet skills can probably find all the information that's in this book. But if you depend only on what you find online, you'll find lots of incorrect garbage as well. What you find in this book you can take to the bank as being correct. You also won't find all this information in one place online, and it won't be organized as well.

If you're looking for some previously unknown secret to be revealed, you won't find it in this book. If you want a little more insight into The Sims, and the Unleased expansion pack, you'll find it here. The insight I gained from this book has helped me enjoy the game a little more. I have no regrets about buying the book.

Okay not to start off on a bad note I will say that the tips where very useful to me. However here are the two main things I had problems with:

1) Re-reading the Orginal Sims strategy guide which is the first half of the book. I've already read the strategy guide on its own, in Livin Large, House Party, Hot Date, and the Vacation strategy guides (is it necessary to have it part of every strategy guide?)

and

2) The pictures some of which where nice, but when trying to show the different pet tricks it was hard to see them because they're small, black and white photo's hard to notice the small dogs and cats in the pictures.

There are useful tips on housebreaking, breeding, winning the pet show, gardening, and caring for other pets like the turtle and fish. Also very helpful tables showing the new career choices. This was usefull for me at least as well getting to see all the new objects laid out telling me the cost and motive enhancments. Also this strategy guide is very easy to read, which helped me read through it in a breaze so I could go play the game as soon as possible.

This "Official Strategy Guide" is a sad waste of trees. It offers NO new information. If you have basic common sense, and the manual/guide included in the software, you are already 3 steps ahead of this useless book.

What I really didn't need was the large re-hash of the general Sims information. Over half of the book was dedicated to this, completely useless to me. I already have that in my well-worn copy of Sims "Living Large." The small section on Unleashed was helpful. It explained the new areas, the objects, careers and such. But I would have preferred that the majority of the book include information about Unleashed and perhaps a small chapter going over the general information.

If you have played any part of this SIMS series of games you will find this book completely useless. There is no new information worth mentioning, and no new cheats offered.

I borrowed this book from my friend and I couldn't understand why they put all of the information about the first one, when this is called "The Sims Unleashed: Prima's Official Strategy Guide". Needs more Unleashed.

Once again, the seller has done a very professional job of packing and selling a mint condition book with super fast shipping! :)

This is all about the original Sims and then towards the end gets in to the basics of Unleashed that one could learn from the program itself!

Complete waste of money that only looks good on a shelf!

Finally we have our pets! A wide range of them. Dogs, cats, birds and even reptiles. You can buy them or adopt them. Train them and make money showing off their talents or breeding them.

The new careers are great. Now we can do something with all those cooking skills!

This is definately a "can't miss"!

I love having pets for the sims. This helps a lot. But I have to say that the game stinks.
