5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific resource, December 18, 2008
This review is from: Simulation Scenarios for Nurse Educators: Making it Real (Campbell, Simulation Scenarios for Nursing Educators) (Paperback)
Those of us who are trying to get simulation going in our nursing education facilities have few really good resources available. This is one of two that I've found and it's a great one. Suzanne and Karen have really provided us with a wealth of information including in depth descriptions of a variety of simulation scenarios. These scenarios include post partum hemorrhage, wound care, diabetic home care, PTSD, trauma resuscitation, communication with the elderly and even mood disorders among others. I can't say enough about this resource and I've only touched the surface as far as trying out some of the ideas. I can tell that this book will really make a difference as I integrate simulation into our curriculum.

This review is from: Simulation Scenarios for Nurse Educators: Making it Real (Campbell, Simulation Scenarios for Nursing Educators) (Paperback)
My college cannot afford to buy expensive simulation scenarios, so we started by adapting the scenarios in this book. The scenarios are easy to follow, and although high fidelity mannequins can be used, they are not necessary to benefit from this book. We started with the wound care simulation, and the students loved it! This book proves that you don't have to spend a lot of money to start implementing clinical simulations.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simulation Scenerios for Nurse Educators, September 7, 2010

This review is from: Simulation Scenarios for Nurse Educators: Making it Real (Campbell, Simulation Scenarios for Nursing Educators) (Paperback)
I found this book to be very helpful in creating simulation scenerios for the classroom. I incorporated two simulations within my didactic time and received positive feedback from the students. The simulations allow for tactile experience which reinforces the didactic material.
