3.0 out of 5 stars No Sin
While this was a selection for our Bclub.Sin brought out a lot of discussions !

Especially with the the viewpoints dealing with Sin and Nedra !

Realizing Sin was undercover I could not excuse him from running out on her especially in her time of need ! He left her to face the demon of the church by herself . Just because she's the minister does not remove her...

Sin, by first time novelist Crystal Rhodes, has made a romance reader of me. This powerful love-story, filled with descriptive passages, put me at the heart of the love affair between Nedra and Sin. I became so caught up that for a moment I became Nedra! I felt her dismay when she was criticized about the affair with the love of her life. I could really relate to all the turmoil and confusion that the had to contend with in her congregation. But I was satisfied with the ending. I applaud Ms. Rhodes and am eagerly awaiting her next release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting!, August 1, 2000

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Sin (Indigo: Sensuous Love Stories) (Paperback)
Nedra was a pastor of Mt. Zion church and knew it was hard to be a prominent woman preacher. Her mother a pastor herself, always told her she had an image to uphold. Nedra did a good job at keeping men at arms length, that is until she met Sin (Sinclair Reasoner). She couldn't help but notice how fine this man was. She tried to deny her attraction to him. She did a good job, but he kept popping up everywhere. She decided she needed a vacation and went to Lake Tahoe and who does she run into Sin.

Sin knew Nedra when she was volunteering during one of her summer vacations from college. He decided to start his import/export business in California and who does he see in the paper Nedra. He had always thought she was an attractive woman. He had come to her with two young boys who tried to steal his car. Sin being from the streets himself knew how dangerous it could be for young boys. He wanted her to find them a home. The attraction to her was electric.

Sin found out that someone wanted Nedra dead because she was driving all of the drug traffic out of the area. He decided to follow her on vacation. Their relationship took off from there.

There is so much to this story, I don't want to give it all away. It was very well written and had you wondering what was going to happen next. The secondary characters added spice to this story as well. Crystal did a good job with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love is not Sin, February 17, 2002
By
The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sin (Indigo: Sensuous Love Stories) (Paperback)
Is love a sin? Was love not meant to be shared and enjoyed
by all? Sin by Crystal Rhodes is a wonderful read that touches
you with sincere understanding of two people desire to fight
that, which is natural, love.

Reverend Nedra Davis has worked hard to establish a large
following at her church, Mount Peter. She has been labeled
the "Anti-Drug Queen" because of the work she has been
doing removing drugs from the community. Reverend Nedra
has also made some very sinister people angry with her
anti-drug mission because she is interfering with their
profits.

Sinclair Reasoner is a man who keeps much of everything
to himself. A product of the streets and having to raise
himself because of his mother's drug addiction, he is not
proud of some of the things he has had to do to survive
while growing up. However, with determination, he has now
established himself as a business man being in control
and of his own.

Sin, as he is called by many, comes to Reverend Nedra in
hopes that she will be able to find a good home for two
boys, Colin and Trevor Johnson, whom he confronts while
the older one is trying to steal his car radio. Instead
of turning them into the police, he opted to take them
home and talk to their mother only to find the deployable
conditions the boys live in and the obvious signs that
their mother was and have not always been around. Sin
learns quickly that their mother is a drug addict. The
older boy was stealing to feed himself and his brother.
Sin feels obligated to help them find a good home where
they will be properly cared for. After reading and hearing
about the good work Reverend Nedra has been doing at
Mount Peter, Sin feels that this is the best place for him
to seek help for Colin and Trevor.

The moment he meets and discuss with Reverend Nedra about
Colin and Trevor's living conditions and the unknown
whereabouts of their mother, he instantly realizes that
there is more to Reverend Nedra then just being a minister.
Sin also soon learns that Reverend Nedra's life is threatened
because of the work she is doing to rid the community of
drugs. Unbeknown to Reverend Nedra and Sin, they are about
to collide on a very unique obstacle course of finding love,
trust, and faith with each other. They will also face intense
suspense, intrigue and force to make some difficult decisions
that will affect their lives forever. The tides of time,
defining love, and accepting who they are and how they feel
will be put to the test several times for both as the grim
reaper waits in the wings. The outcome is something you
will not expect.

When I first started reading this book, it immediately held
my attention, because the storyline was very different
then others in a romantic sort of way. I applaud Ms. Rhodes
for developing this storyline for us to really take
a hard look at each other and judge not, but understand
and learn from each other in the process. Love is for

everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars This was an inspirational story!, July 29, 2000
This review is from: Sin (Indigo: Sensuous Love Stories) (Paperback)
When I first visited the store and saw this book, I had never heard of this author. I was taken back by the title even more so of the story description found on the back of the cover. I though to myself, now what is this story about that featured a female minister and a man who called himself, 'Sin'. Well to my suprise and perhaps to others who have an open and receptive mind, this was an outstanding book that I can find myself reading over and over again. For those who are believers in God or a higher force, this book provides such an illustration of what it means to let go and let God lead your life. This book, showed me how He has a plan for all our lives, often not seeing the full picture at the time of why things happen the way they do, it just falls in place. The picture does not become clear until all pieces are in place. Well this story illustrates it all in this one book. Sin, whose name is Sinclair and Nedra have history together but the author does such an excellent job of how our lives can cross each other's paths in full circle to perfectly come together as God had it planned all along. If you like a book that will illustrate the power of love, faith, prayer, the thrill of adventure and passion. READ, this book. Its stated on the back of the cover, this is the author's first novel. Well Ms Rhodes, you did a wonderful job telling this story and I look forward to more of your novels in the future. To my fellow readers, give this one a try and read it, I don't think you'll be disappointed, as a matter of fact there's some suprises!

Ms. Rhodes has provided the reader with a brilliant storyline. ... violence, domestic abuse, murder and other unspeakable events which add to the spiciness of making this a well rounded story. 5.0 out of 5 stars If lovin Sin is wrong, then I don't wanna do right, December 20, 2000
This review is from: Sin (Indigo: Sensuous Love Stories) (Paperback)
I was told this was Ms Rhodes first book. If it is she is a winner and I will be looking forward to more by her. This romance had everything in it to make it a enjoyable read. Nedra Davis was the pastor of a large up and coming church in Oakland CA. In walks Sin into her office, on the pretense of helping two young boys. They meet and the sparks fly. Because she is a pastor and has a reputation to uphold, she tries to play it off. But sinning with Sin is constantly on her mind. She knows she can not give in to the dark, earring wearing, sexy, mysterious man. Lord, help her to hold out. When Sin appoints himself her personal bodyguard, they spend quality time together and ......... Read the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Sinful!, November 9, 2000
This review is from: Sin (Indigo: Sensuous Love Stories) (Paperback)
Wow!! I loved this story. At first I did not think I wanted to read this book, but I'm gald I did. This book was off the chain! Sinclair was dreamy, my kind of man, tall, dark, and handsome. Talk about attacking some serious issues, Rhodes showed no mercy on the matter, things like church, community, what is wrong or right for certain people. I know a lot of people that can talk about the pros and cons of this for days. I really liked Sin, but you need to see for yourself, so go get a copy! Nice work!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sin, August 25, 2009
This review is from: Sin (Indigo) (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It was intriguing and kept my attention. It also made me feel as if I was experiencing what the characters were experiencing. Very good book and story line. Since Nedra was portrayed as a powerful female minister, I would have liked for that to have played more of a role in her life.

Thank you for the book.
