Sin,
This review is from: Sin (Paperback)
Venetia Hamilton is the largely unknown, oldest illegitimate daughter of famed erotic artist Rodesson. When Rodesson's arthritic hands prevent him from painting, Venetia secretly produces his scandalous works. If her father could abstain from gambling and other wicked pursuits, she could easily earn enough to keep her younger sisters respectable. When Marcus Wyndham, the Earl of Trent, unexpectedly appears at her door, Venetia quickly realizes that one of her father's main characters is based on him. Unfortunately, her renderings have made the caricature more realistic than her father's version. Marcus, who doesn't need all of London talking about his licentious ways, informs Venetia that her father's gambling debts have been settled, and her sordid career is over. Although she isn't happy about this, there is little she can do.
After Lydia, her father's mistress, threatens to reveal her secret, Venetia, now without a steady income, believes she can reason with the woman. There's just one problem; Lydia is off to a weekend orgy in the country. Of course, the seductive Earl of Trent, a fixture in her private art and thoughts, could escort Venetia to the infamous party. Against his better judgment, Marcus agrees. Who else will protect the willful and innocent woman? Venetia, however, isn't the only one being blackmailed. Lydia seems to have something on everyone attending the party, including Marcus. In the midst of debauchery, intrigue, and danger, can Marcus protect Venetia...even from himself? Combining breathtaking sensual abandon and a clever story, Sharon Page's Sin was a joy to read! Ms. Page deftly balances romance, mystery, and explicit sexuality. Often in erotic romance, the rocket hot passion comes at the expense of the story. Not so with Sin. The intriguing whodunit kept me guessing, while Venetia and Marcus left me panting for more. Marus was simply delicious. He is wicked, but he truly cares about Venetia. Venetia was a bit of a contradiction, ready to experience everything, but with no real idea what she's asking. At times her inexperience and stubbornness unnecessarily caused problems, but I thought her character worked well within the story. The orgy scenes were elegantly portrayed, overflowing with indulgent, deviant delights. Normally, orgies leave me cold, but I loved the juxtaposition of the lewd but tantalizing bacchanal and the beauty of Marcus and Venetia's evolving relationship. I was utterly captivated by the lush and vivid story. I simply couldn't put it down. Sin is the complete package: a scorching hot historical romance with an engrossing mystery. Pretty good read!,

I'm an avid reader of erotica and just finished this one. It definitely fit the definition of "erotica"! Lots and LOTS of sex, and in all forms: orgies, male-on-male, female-on-female, women-hanging-upside-down, LOL. A bit much, but it wasn't a serious problem for me. The plot was a bit of a stretch (seriously, is the reader supposed to believe that the well-bred, virgin heroine had NO CHOICE but to attend an orgy in order to save her family?!) but that's no surprise in this genre.
There was a bit too much anal play for my taste, and too many descriptions of bizarre anonymous encounters at the orgy. But the sexual relationship between the two main characters was interesting enough for me to keep this book in my library. It was well-written, too: I wasn't distracted by the bad writing as I am all too often. If readers like Kate Pearce's "Simply Sexual" they will probably like this book, too. Similar sex scenes and action.

OMG...sex, sex, and more sex on other page. Not just sex, but hot, saucy, jump off the page sex scenes. This was a fast read. I read this in one setting because I couldn't put it down. If you don't like romance books with cover to cover sex, then this is not the book for you. It also has a pretty good plot. I enjoyed how SP created the hero's (Marcus) character. He is already a reformed rake when the heroine (Venetia) meets him. Even though it was an erotic love story the hero is so caring and warm. The heroine is an innocent....However, she is not shy but willing to try everything forbidden. Some of the intimacy she initiates on her own. (my kind of heroine). They were made for each other. I mean the heat and passion/lust and eventaully love between the hero and heroine is awesome. I really enjoyed this story. If you like it oh so hot...then this is the book for you.

Terrific hot historical romance,
This review is from: Sin (Paperback)
Venetia Hamilton would have never guessed how great the impact of her changes in her father's erotic drawings would be. Suddenly the hero of the erotic art books is the spitting image of Marcus Wyndham, Earl of Trent. When he confronts her with this fact and the fact that he knows that she is the artist behind the latest successful publication, she learns that not only her future depends on the powerful Earl but also that she is very attracted to him. This is something new for a lady who has never experienced desire before. The rake and the innocent, what will the future bring for them?
Sin is one of the hottest erotic romances that this reviewer has ever read! Ms. Page wrote a really terrific novel. The reader will discover the darker and much more sinful side of the Regency world of the Ton. Sin is definitely not a book for the faint-hearted, because nothing is left for the reader's imagination. During the orgy that the hero and heroine visit, the reader will encounter M/M, F/F, Ménages and BDSM scenes. Like this reviewer said, the book is steamy hot. It will keep you captivated from the first moment onward and you won't be able to stop reading, you won't get enough of this book. Ms. Page created with Venetia and Marcus some interesting characters. They are bound together not only by Venetia's erotic drawings but also through the fact that they are both being blackmailed by the same person. Both of them will do anything to save their loved ones and to keep their secrets secure. Marcus is not your typical rake, because he has some morals. He carries a lot of problems with him, because of the past of his father. He tries to keep his emotions separate from his doings, but he meets his match with Venetia. She turns his whole life upside down. Although Venetia draws erotic sketches, she is an absolute innocent, but a really curious one. Her curiosity and strong-willed mind nearly drives Marcus crazy. The sexual tension between them is almost tangible. Now add a murder mystery to the developing relationship between those two and the story becomes even more interesting. Sin is a real keeper and you will want to keep an eye open for more books by Sharon Page! Courtesy of Loveromancesandmore

If you are looking for a book with scorching sex from cover to cover, this is a book for you. I was a bit irritated over the "period" slang words used for some bodyparts though. The plot is also a bit hard to swallow. It was also a bit farfetched that the heroine, in all her innocense, is so fast in willing to try everything forbidden. Though I do find her gorgeous and enchanting. It's a good read though, the above mentioned put aside :-)

This book is a keeper!! You fall in love with Marcus and imagine yourself in Venetia shoes from beginning to end.
Venetia is an artist; she is painting erotic images to help keep her family from financial ruin. Her father was an infamous erotica artist but as he is aging he can't keep up with it, so Venetia steps up to the plate. What Venetia does not know is that the man she paints in her portraits is not an imaginary lord; he is the well-known rake Marcus Wyndham, the Earl of Trent. Marcus visits Venetia and urges her to stop painting erotica, as he is trying to improve his reputation and all her images of him are not helping that situation. When he meets her, he did not expect to find such a delicious looking innocent woman. Sparks fly from the first time Marcus and Venetia meet. This book has everything you want in an erotica novel. Page does not sacrifice the intriguing story line in order to provide multiple sex scenes. What you will find in this book is Blackmail, murder, sinful secrets, and an orgy with every imaginable [...] If you like erotica, you will love this book.

I did not expect to like this book. I like erotica-but I like them on the short size-after all-can a writer help but become repetitive? Well, apparently NOT. Hold onto your hats lady but this erotica actually have a solid story-meaning: PLOT. Nice cover but it doesn't reflect the story that's inside. Venetia and Trent are truely multideminional characters-fully realized and executed brillantly. Not only that-it's not sex for the sake of sex-it a romance novel-just taken expertly to the next level. I'm definitely adding this author to my MUST READ column and you should too.

Good mystery, tiresome sex,
By bbvector, LORE Reading Group (Colorado, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sin (Paperback)
Set in 1818 England, Venetia Hamilton is the oldest illegitimate daughter of a famous erotic artist. Since her father's hands are crippled, Venetia now draws and paints the carnal pictures that tantalize society. And she's being blackmailed about it. In order to protect her mother and younger sisters, Venetia cooperates with Marcus Wyndham, the Earl of Trent. He's also being blackmailed about a vicious family secret. The blackmailer is an aging and famous courtesan. Venetia and Marcus attend a country house party/orgy, facing the blackmailer and murder and their own desires. Pretty good story but, and I can't believe I'm going to say this, the sex was too much, too repetitive, too boring. By Chapter Six or so I skimmed the sex passages. I was more interested in the mystery - who killed the blackmailer and is now after the blackmailer's journal?

The beauty of erotica is drawn from a vivid and fertile imagination. One that sees the different scenes in which hedonistic flavor abounds within her colored pages. Open the book to explore the artistic world of Sin!
One woman's sexual dalliances over the years has yield her a wealth of secrets that she hopes will give her blackmail money as her beauty starts to pass. This is where the stories begins... Venetia Hamilton is caught in an era when women are not allowed many rights, much less the right to paint erotic pictures for books. Yet, one woman does just that, only one man that she repeatedly paints will come to live right before her eyes. He is the great rakehell, the Earl of Trent, and he is furious that he has been depicted in the lewd ways that Venetia has painted. But, He will find her innocence and free spirit too heady an aphasiac to resist. Together, they will find themselves going to an orgy to face a blackmailer. Things will get twisted and deadly before you can say `phallic'. SIN is by author Sharon Page. Ms. Page has a sensually sinful voice. From the moment the first page is turned Ms. Page starts the reader on a sensuous journey into a historical world of grandeur and elegant characters that begin to work their magic, capturing your heart. The sinfully descriptive sex is undeniably breathtaking. Ms. Page will also create emotional wealth with her well-written characters and their heated dialogues. All this combined with a twist of a whodunit will keep the pages turning and your entertainment level on high. Venetia is a woman ahead of her time. She wants freedom and the ability to earn a good living painting erotic scenes revolving around the royalty of the Ton. Only her dead on depiction of one such man, the Earl of Trent will land her in hot water. He will threaten to expose her if she does not stop painting erotic art and will end up exposing her to much more than a gentleman really should, but then, he is no gentleman and soon, she will understand all the sexual nuances she has been missing. There are few erotic historical novels with this kind of elegant sensuality and crafting that SIN by Sharon Page exhibits in spades! This reviewer highly recommends this novel and cannot wait to see what Ms. Page pens for her next heated tale of love abound and untamed.
