Can Kids Still Have These Sorts of Adventures?,
By Sully "Aging tweener" (Too far from Texas!) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sinbad and Me (Paperback)
Forget free love, Vietnam, the peace movement, campus unrest, and inner-city strife -- we kids weren't paying attention to any of that. The 1960s were an ideal decade for children, perhaps the last truly innocent era. Kids were encouraged to learn, to wonder, to imagine, to dream. It was a big world, full of limitless horizons. This book captures all of that expansive optimism in the relationship between a boy and his bulldog. When I was 12 years old I couldn't put it down. Will "Sinbad and Me" make sense to kids today? I certainly hope so! And I hope this novel is back in print by the time my five-month-old boy learns to read.

One of my favorites,

I must have read this book 15 times as a kid. I loved it. I've been looking for it in every used bookstore I've come across. I can't think of a book that deserves a re-release more.

GET THIS BACK IN PRINT!,
By Walter Smith (Dallas, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sinbad and Me (Paperback)
As good as a juvenile mystery gets! As an avid juvenile mystery reader in the 1970's this was by far the best mystery I read. My kids are reading my copy and I'd love to replace it with a new one. The only other Kin Platt book I read was atrocious, so I'm not sure that this book is representative of his work.

A book you never forget,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinbad and Me (Paperback)
Of all the books I read as a child, this is one of the few that I remember most vividly. I laughed out loud at the hilarious escapades and was thoroughly intrigued by the plot. It is a "cryin' shame" that this book is out of print -- there is an entire generation of young readers waiting to be captivated by Sinbad the bulldog! Who do we need to convince?

A Wonderful Book--Definitely Should Be Reprinted,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinbad and Me (Hardcover)
Sinbad and Me is a wonderful children's book. When I was a child I loved it and have read it once or twice as an adult. I'll enjoy reading it to my children. It has adventure, humor, freindship (dog and human!)--and information about architecture and rare coins that I found fascinating even as a young child. Loved Sinbad the bulldog! Like many of the other reviewers, I hope this book will be in print again.

Deserves to be in print - in my top ten list,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinbad and Me (Paperback)
A simply marvelous mystery novel for kids (and adults who have managed to keep their imagination intact). My wife and both read this as kids, and both still love it! If you can find it, this is a book you will read more than once, appreciate more with each reading, and want to share with your family and friends. I gave away my copy years ago to a younger brother of a girlfriend, and it took a year of searching to find another one! It should not be that difficult to own this book - bring it back in print!!!

a great adventure and puzzling mystery,
By Sammy Madison (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sinbad and me (Paperback)
Kin Platt did not write down to young readers. This is a very intelligently written mystery. The reader will definitely pick up all kinds of knowledge in reading it. It is a great adventure. As a young teen in the '70s I really loved "The Blue Man" by Kinn Platt, and was really happy to find two more books about Steve, the very smart and brave hero. I can't believe this awesome book is out of print. If you have a chance to read it, do so, regardless of your age. You'll love it!

Childhood favorite,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinbad and Me (Paperback)
I first read Sinbad and Me when it was just published or shortly thereafter. I still read it. I think there is something about a boy and his dog that is so appealing. And I have always looked at bull dogs as though I know them. Plus tidbits on architecture and a mystery. Please, it's great.

Wishing for a reprint!,
This review is from: Sinbad and Me (Paperback)
Our paperback version of this book made it thru five children--me being the youngest--and I'd love to replace our tattered and torn copy with a reprint! My mom keeps our copy in her cedar chest, so I haven't seen it in years, but I can still see all the illustrations in my head. Bring it back!

Best book (besides maybe the Tolkien series) that I've read,
By eschlag@lakefield.net (Wisconsin) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sinbad and Me (Paperback)
This is a book that introduces children to more complex works without taking away the high adventures they need to hold their interest. I list this book as one of the top reasons I have an interest in solving problems today. I would love to aquire an edition if I could but I can't find it anywhere. Hopefully the publisher will print it again.
