4.0 out of 5 stars Sincerely Deceitful & Stupid...., August 26, 2004
This review is from: Sincerely Yours (True 2 Life Street) (Paperback)
Here's another hit by Mr. Banks. The main characters are Sincere & Suave (2 perfect? people in love)...The female character Sincere was an ingrate & "stupidly" irresponsible to the one man who truly loved her. He did a 3 year bid in jail and their relationship was tested. The male character named Suave was a man who was dealt an unfair hand in life, yet he maintains character to push forward. The story is not predictable - don't try to guess. There are "several" surprises in the story. There are some empowering messeges written in this novel, just as much as there is drama and tragedy. The only flaw I have with this book is the author crossed that taboo line...I won't say what it is...read this book for yourself. My favorite part of the book was the boxing scene in the gym, ( I won't say much more). This book skillfully wraps up a 3 book trilogy (NO EXIT & BLOCK PARTY) and concludes questions that were unanswered in his first 2 novels. Nice work, Mr. Banks....what's next????

5.0 out of 5 stars Sincerely Suave Conclusion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, August 3, 2004

This review is from: Sincerely Yours (True 2 Life Street) (Paperback)
"What more can I say?"

The entire squad is on the court and the clock has just gone into overtime as the coach pulls out his clipboard for that "MOMENT OF CLARITY!"

"It's a hard knock life" 4 Queen's sitting on the sideline awaiting her King's return. You know from the very first time his eye caught yours that his heart was filled with the streets so either you're with that impending bid, or you better blaze your path! But in this case this love is sincerely suave and it's conclusive that it's way too late to let go!

Every single visit you're there, you don't miss a single call, and at mail call you blow his name up so everybody knows Wifey is still on the scene and taking care of her J-O-B! Cause you know that a life without his love is not a life you want to live. UNTIL someone sees that you're lonely, he says the right words that "ALLURE" you. We're human right? I mean I make enough cash to keep his ass off the streets so he elected to do that time not me! But it's not making love if your heart isn't in it! I was weak, I fell; but then he's back for an "ENCORE" performance! Dude on the side is getting wild, saying he's in love, telling you to leave your man. Is he crazy? Lemme "JUSTIFY MY THUG" 4 U! Dude this is just meaningless sex. What my King and I share is 100% L-O-V-E!

As Sincere and Suave do their separate but equal bids we find that "No Exit" opened doors and people were given major 2nd chances. The "Block Party" didn't end but it drastically changed. And after all these years I'm still "Sincerely Yours!"

Al-Saadiq uniquely breathes life into what a reality street life is. I told people that you didn't have to read in any specific order, but as usual Al-Saadiq has stepped up his game so you must start with No Exit, Block Party, and then Sincerely Yours.

REAL RECOGNIZES REAL AND STREET CREDIBILITY IS EVERYTHING!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm in agreeance with all other reviewers, April 19, 2005

A love to die for. Sincere (beautiful name) and Suave have it going on in their relationship and then he goes to jail for self defending himself. This book keeps you in suspense and keeps you wondering will their relationship survive. At first I didn't think I would like a book like this. I thought it would be boring and was told before. Man and woman are together strong. Then man goes to jail and woman turns into a **** until he gets out. People, this wasn't like that at all!!!! It was well written and Mr. Banks craftly writes about their relationship and makes you care about them and HOPE they never go separate ways. When Suave goes to jail you almost want to cry. I found myself praying for relationship. AWSOME JOB!!!!

I tought this book was very good, I enjoyed it from being to end. The authour said he done this one for the ladies and he really did. It was weather Sincere could hold it down while her man Suave was doing a bid. And you have to read the book to know if she holds it down or not.............

4.0 out of 5 stars Sincerely???, November 13, 2004
This review is from: Sincerely Yours (True 2 Life Street) (Paperback)
'Sincerly Yours' is the book that ties together author Al Saadiq Banks' two previous works 'No Exit' and 'Block Party'. Introducing new characters and incorporating a few previous ones, Mr. Banks stays true to form; giving readers a clear picture of urban street life. The cover design and title are perfectly in sinc with the content of the book. Sincere and Suave are in love, but their love is put to the test when Suave is sent to prison. The detrimental choices Sincere makes during their time apart causes major turmoil in both of their lives. Will their love survive when shocking truths are revealed, or will the reality of it all break up their relationship?
The conclusion is not to be expected, so don't try and predict it. In his closing acknowledgements, Mr. Banks explains why he ended it the way he did. He HAD to 'flip the script' - literally! Al Saadiq, I enjoyed your latest contribution to the literary world, and respect your efforts. Thanks for staying 'sincere' to your readers.

Once again I must come back on here and give Mr. Banks his acknowledgements on another great story. Sincerely Yours is such a good story I am at a lost of words to describe it. If you are a true fan and have read the first two you will really appreciate the story Mr. Banks is giving us. He brought in new characters with a completely different story line.

Suave and Sincere relationship is one many people wish for. A man who doesn't cheat or hasn't the whole 10 years now that in itself was great. LOL no really their story was just so good and well put together. The addition of the old characters and their conclusions in this one was a great surprise. If you have not read any of his books honestly you will love all 3 you have to start with NO EXIT in order to appreciate the rest of them. Continued success and much love to Mr. Banks and his family.

I had the pleasure of talking to Mr. Banks personally not once did he mention the conclusion to my favorite two street stories. The only thing left to say is THIS IS A MUST READ!

5.0 out of 5 stars So Sincere , So Sincere, January 27, 2005
This review is from: Sincerely Yours (True 2 Life Street) (Paperback)
The book is a smash hit. I've never experience such good writing skills , Mr. Banks has you mesmerize with his pen. Sincerely yours concludes the other two novels No exit and Block Party you don't even have to read the other novels, but still it's the Conclusion. Mr.Banks leaves so many messages through out the writing until I'm speechless. Every one knows a Sincere in there life or heard one. It's truly a Love Story( Sincere & Suave) even the names are unique. Sincere were a street dude with great potential, one night landed him 3 years in person. Sincere accepted and chose to wait it out. Suave provided sincere with everything she needed ( she had her own to, don' get it twisted),
the one thing he didn't provide her with was the hot sex, he put out, but not the good stuff. Someone turn sincere out , but in the end she remain Suave's Sincerely Yours. This is a must read the Ending is not predictable . Can't wait until "Caught um Slipping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brick City Stand up!!!!, December 22, 2008
This review is from: Sincerely Yours (True 2 Life Street) (Paperback)
I love reading books from Jersey authors! The story line for Sincerely Yours is sick. It was dramatic and the events that take place are so real! I can see all of the places mentioned in the book as well as the characters! This book is hot! I just wish that she didn't start sleeping with that psycho officer. Read it if you haven't already.
