3.0 out of 5 stars A short romance
I believe this is part of a mini series of books (or stories?) and as such, was very short. I read the whole thing and then went, that's it? It had a very promising start but I felt it was very rush (probably because it was short).

If I had known that, I wouldn't have purchase as I usually like longer novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Sinful Gentlemen, July 2, 2008
This review is from: The Sinful Gentlemen: The Manuscript : Midnight Without a Moon (Paperback)
Claire Fallon is unsure why Margot Tremont, the Duchess of Astley, has called for her. Having been turned down for employment all over London, Claire is almost at the end of her rope and out of choices. Claire doesn't know it but that is exactly what Duchess Astley is counting on.

Margot Tremont is worried about her brother Justin. After a disastrous marriage, it seems that all her brother wants to do is content himself with country living and locking himself away with his various science experiments. Fearing that Justin will not be attracted to a female again, Margot has the perfect answer: Claire Fallon in all of her educated, intellectual, beautiful glory.

Justin Howard, Viscount Ranleigh, is looking forward to meeting the new assistant his sister has hired. However, when C. Fallon arrives, Justin can't believe his eyes. The man he thought he was getting is in actuality a woman.

A beautiful, witty, smart, innocent woman. It is only a matter of time before Justin caves in and touches her and that is what Claire is counting on.

The Manuscript by Emma Wildes is a delicious read. Justin was adorable. I found myself smiling at his discomfort and I loved how Claire was able to tease him. Claire was unlike any innocent I have read about in a while. She has guts, I don't think I would have been able to seduce Justin.

The Manuscript is a hot, romantic read that instantly held me spellbound. I love how Ms. Wildes threw a plot twist at the end and surprised me. The Manuscript is a great addition to my library!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sinfully Delicious, February 27, 2007
This review is from: The Sinful Gentlemen: The Manuscript : Midnight Without a Moon (Paperback)
Emma Wildes has a lyrical voice which draws you into her fabulous historical stories immediately and won't let go until you've finished.

Delicious heroes, strong heroines and a few twists and turns only added to my delight. I can't wait for more of her books.

I adored both The Manuscript and Midnight Without a Moon tremendously.
Please don't make me choose which I liked best.
They are both wonderful.

This one goes directly to my keeper shelf!
Thank you Ms. Wildes for a magnificent read.

The story line flowed from one chapter to the next. In fact, there WAS a story line, not just a number of encounters. But it's definitely not a book for the faint of heart.

3.0 out of 5 stars WAY too short!, April 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This got a three-star review instead higher because it was way too short. I figured at that price, and based on another reviewer's comments, that it would be short but it was SHORT; I read it in about an hour. Also, contrary to the cover picture and some reviews, the sex scenes weren't even particularly hot...I'd describe them as warm. HOWEVER, it is a cute, charming story with an interesting plot that's a little different than some I've read (male lead's sister hires female lead to be her brother's mistress). Just wish it were longer.
