4.0 out of 5 stars BURNING! VERY SENSUAL!!!
WOW, this book is really great reading. I'm glad that there are the likes of Thea Devine who understands a woman's secret fantasies. There are only a handfull romance authors out there who are courageous enough to write sexy and sensual novels which a lot of romance readers crave and enjoy. More power to Thea Devine and keep on writing.

1.0 out of 5 stars no one has mentioned the most important element!
I'm very surprised to find that nowhere on this page does anyone -- Amazon, publisher or reviewer -- mention a very important aspect of this book: the vampires. This is a paranormal romance, and I'd expect it to be marketed as such. I'm very surprised to find that nowhere on this page does anyone -- Amazon, publisher or reviewer -- mention a very important aspect of this book: the vampires. This is a paranormal romance, and I'd expect it to be marketed as such. I don't care for that genre, and since I bought the book based on the description & the reviews, I was very, very disappointed to find that I'd bought a paranormal.

Don't get me wrong -- there's nothing inherently wrong with paranormal romance & I know that many readers really enjoy such a story. But I don't, and I wish I'd been forewarned.

3.0 out of 5 stars EROTICA, HORROR STYLE, March 19, 2001
By

SINFUL SECRETS is best termed an erotic horror story. In keeping with Thea Devine's style, no way is it a romance novel. Passion is discussed, but not love. A virgin stripper is kidnapped and taken away to become either the chosen child-bearer or the next meal for a deranged man, possibly a vampire. The hero enters, and with much luck and cunning, saves the day, and the stripper, while deflowering her (for the entertainment of their host). The story is the stuff of which horror fantasy is woven. If you're looking for something a little darker than usual and not very realistic, this may be your book.

3.0 out of 5 stars HOT!!!, November 20, 2003
By
This review is from: Sinful Secrets (Paperback)
The steamy scenes in this book are sure to get your heart racing. Unfortunately, the plot was a little over the top and kind of stupid. It was just so ridiculous. Sometimes I found it hard to concentrate on the great chemistry the two main characters had when it was happening in a harem full of naked girls unknowingly waiting to be eaten by a vampire! And the two of them having sex in front of this vampire sheik or whatever he was just creeped me out. Plus, the "hero" kept calling the heroine horribly nasty names up to the very last page. That isn't erotic OR romantic!
I realize some of my comments kinda contradict each other...and I apologize. I'm just not sure what I really think about this book. I guess the one thing I can say for sure is that if you want a book with hot sex scenes aplenty, "Sinful Secrets" is for you!
Also, I think the book should have some kind of disclosure: WARNING: Reading "Sinful Secrets" will make you wish your boyfriend/husband was as...ahem...virile as the hero in this book is!

1.0 out of 5 stars Silly Secrets, July 22, 2005
By
This review is from: Sinful Secrets (Paperback)
First of all, the "heroine" was not technically a virgin. She was raped once, but she obviously got over that by the time that she was forced to publicly have sex with the "hero". The sex was boring, not at all hot. The repetitive use of the terms passion whore and passion nipple were beyond ridiculous. The story didn't work because there was NO chemistry between the couple and the plot was undeveloped and ridiculous. The plot could have worked with more detail and character depth, and the sex could have benefitted from the same. This book was bad enough to deter me from purchasing any more of Ms. Devine's books. There are definitely BETTER erotic and paranormal novels out there.

4.0 out of 5 stars This book was so STEAMY and HOT, October 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinful Secrets (Paperback)
I really liked it. I love erotic fiction and this is one of the best. I did like the plot also. Yes, there are a lot of sex scenes, but that's what made the book what it is. Yes,some of the italics did bother me, but I got pass that. Very good book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Sex and A Ridiculous Plot, March 18, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinful Secrets (Paperback)
I love Thea Devine's eroticism in her novels. The sex is explicit, detailed, frequent, passionate and graphic. That's why I buy her books, being bored to tears by most romance novels... However, the plot here with its vampires and pashas was both absurd and boring. Give me a plot between two historical lovers we know -- King Charles II and Barbara Palmer Castlemaine, Mary Queen of Scots and the Earl of Bothwell; or even two lovers we don't -- but at least give us a scenario likely to happen in this century or the last !!! Thea Devine and Robin Schone and Beatrice Small definitely own the market of erotic romance, but the far out, otherworldly settings put a damper on this reader's enthusiasm.

THEA SURE DELIVERED WITH THIS STORY. I THOUGHT THE STORY ABOUT VAMPIRES WAS VERY GOOD. SHE PUTS THE SUPERNATURAL AND A MYSTERY INTO HER BOOKS THAT MAKES FOR A VERY WELL TOLD STORY. SAYRA AND DECLAN ARE VERY HOT INDIVIDUALS. HER LOVE SCENES ARE THE KIND TO WARM ANYONE ON A COLD WINTER NIGHT. SHE IS MY NEW FAVORITE EROTIC AUTHOR UP THERE WITH VIRGINIA HENLEY, SUSAN JOHNSON, AND BERTRICE SMALL.

5.0 out of 5 stars BOLD AND SEXY, June 29, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinful Secrets (Paperback)
SINFUL SECRETS IS A BOOK THAT WILL WARM UP MANY HOT NIGHTS. IT IS A STUNNINGLY SENSUAL BOOK THAT EXPLORES ALL ASPECTS OF SEXUALITY. IT IS A BOOK THAT RELEASES SEXUAL INHIBTIONS AND SHEDS NEW LIGHT ON WHAT WE THINK OF AS TABOO IDEAS AND PRACTICES. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE. THEA DEVINE HAS HER OWN STYLE OF OUTRIGHT SEXUALITY BUT SHE ALSO HAS A LOT OF INTERESTING TALES TO TELL. SHE IS A WONDERFUL WRITER AND I LOVE ALL OF HER BOOKS THAT I MANAGED TO GET MY HANDS ON.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it if you don't like explicit sex in your books!, June 24, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Sinful Secrets (Paperback)
Sex, sex, sex, a little plot, more sex, vampirism, sex, paranoia, kinky sex, debasing sex, and other variations on sex, but it's mostly sex. And very explicit. But, then, I'm sure some people like that. This should be sold as erotic romance or erotic fiction, not historical romance.
