Product Description

Everybody's got a weakness and Chandelle Hutchins' is a love of material possessions. With her marriage crumbling under a mountain of debt, it may just be easier for her husband Marvin to walk away. But with Chandelle's scheming cousin Dior in town, money may be the least of the couple's problems. . .

Dior's weakness is her appetite for causing trouble--and her latest target is her cousin's marriage. But Dior is being trailed by her own troublemaker who refuses to release Dior from her twisted duties as nanny and mistress. Fortunately for everyone involved, the Lord works in mysterious ways. For despite a tangle of lies, manipulation, and mayhem, a series of unexpected events is about to bless everyone with a much needed second chance. . .

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Conquers All, May 25, 2007

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Sinful (Paperback)
In Sinful, Victor McGlothin introduces us to cousins, Chandelle and Dior. The story opens with Chandelle bailing Dior out of another mess which appears to be the pattern throughout the story. Chandelle and Dior grew up relying on each other throughout their lives and even though Chandelle is now married to Marvin, the cycle does not end. Marvin, a devoted husband to the love of his life, accepts that Dior will always be the third wheel in order to appease his wife, even though he realizes the ramifications of having Dior around.

A hard-working man, Marvin would do anything to give Chandelle anything she desires, even the house that he knows they cannot afford. When Dior's antics almost lead to the end of Marvin and Chandelle's marriage, the relationship between the two women is tested. Dior's jealousy of the life her cousin has attained eats her alive and it almost makes the reader wonder just how far she is willing to go, and if she really has any feelings for her cousin at all. However, during this trial, Marvin's life evolves for the better.

Victor McGlothin does a wonderful job of bringing the characters home to me. I loved Dooney, Dior's twin brother. His dialogue had me laughing out loud ("Man, you cooler than the other side of the pillow"). He always had a quip that was timely and realistic. I also liked how Victor justified the fact that Dooney did not curse to make it realistic - he was trying to stop. If you enjoy a good storyline with realistic characters and a timely message about trust and perseverance, then this is your read.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read, July 6, 2008
This review is from: Sinful (Paperback)
This was a good book. At times I wanted to slap the main character for being so stupid, but overall I would recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Tangled Web, November 21, 2007
This review is from: Sinful (Paperback)
Review by Tavares S. Carney - "the Christian Page Turner"
From beginning to end, the author of Sinful, arouses reader anticipation in yearning to know what each character will do next. First there's trouble-making and bitten-by-the-jealous bug, cousin Dior, who resents the fact that her cousin Chandelle has everything she wishes she could have and more, legitimately. This includes a husband, a big house and a nice car. Readers are acquainted with Dior's web of deception that leads to the demise of her cousin's marriage to a humble, loving husband. After a terrible misunderstanding that lands Marvin, Chandelle's husband, in jail, everything starts to unravel in their lives. Both Chandelle and Marvin, although suffering through the pain of thoughts and feelings of ungratefulness, bitterness, jealousy, greed, infidelity and more, never lose their love for each other and with God's influence, are led back into each others arms. This book is a very good read and is proof positive that no matter what, there is always hope for a mended relationship when God is in the picture.
