My 20 month old nephew loves this book and the CD. All the songs are sung by both a male and female in an upbeat away that promotes singing along rather than putting him to sleep (the similar Nursery Rhymes book is a great read but the CD music is definitely sleep-inducing). We have the CD in the car so he doesn't get bored. He acts out the songs - especially for "the itsy bitsy spider", "the wheels on the bus", "if you're happy and you know it". He grabs the heavy book every night to read (along with other favorites). A definite "hooray" from us!

My daughter adores this. At first, I thought a strange-sounding British fellow singing instead of the usual kids' voices was going to be a problem, but the charming simplicity with which these songs are recorded is instantly apparent, and the memorable sounds and instrumentation is going to get your child's attention. I'm very pleased with this. The book that comes along with it is colorfully illustrated and will delight older children who can sing along with the words. Time to go play "The Wheels on the Bus" as my daughter's asking for it!

This book has turned out to be a great purchase. My child loves it. The pictures are embossed. Would highly recommend this book to any parent looking for songs to sing or just to read to children.

This is a great book for little ones to follow along with the songs by looking at the charming illustrations. Then, as they develop their reading abilities, they can follow along with the words that also accompany the pictures. A good choice for parents to share with their children.

I was really hoping this would be a great book to follow along while singing with my daughter to help her grasp the content of the lyrics, but it turned out to be somewhat disappointing.

The quality of the printing and paper is outstanding, but the illustrations are really lacking substance. While "wheels on the bus" is passable, the "old macdonald" is a complete failure with scattered small figures of unidentifiable animals. Since this book is obviously designed for pre-readers, they should've really made the text smaller and the illustration bigger and more coherent, e.g. I wish they would have put a picture of a farm, the old farmer and each of the animals.

My CD review is also mixed: while I like that the songs are sung slower and with a quieter accompaniment (no excessive clapping, loud drums and noises), the British rendition of the songs grates on my husband's nerves. Also, the choice of songs a bit questionable - I would not select "london bridge" and "nut tree" if I had a choice. Please note also, that the songs on CD are repeated twice - with a male and a female voice.

I am keeping the book, but I doubt I've have purchased it if I had an opportunity to see it first.
