Beautifully Interpreted Kate Classics,
By
This review is from: Sing Me Out (Audio CD)
I was very surprised and pleased when I first listened to this album. I did not know what to expect since nearly every song on the album is re-release. Although the songs are old the album is completely new. The way that Kate interprets each song for this album breathes an entire new life and new meaning into each track. The one new track available on this album "Would You Be a Parson" goes to show that Kate still possesses and amazing talent for poignant storytelling and capturing the soul of the lyrics. I highly recommend this album.

re-awakened my southern soul,

This was my first Kate album and it brought music back into my life- I tire of the witty sophistication of urban life and this was a revival of simple but deep life stories that resonate with what is really spiritual and human. I had never heard catholic, country and gospel nuances in one artist. I"ve listened to this CD at least 30 times in the last 2 months.

Saw Kate Campbell in person and she is hysterically funny with her stories. She has a lovely Dolly Parton sort of voice and the stories are so true to life and very touching. My new favorite singer.
