Sing, Pierrot, Sing tells a story without benefit of a song,
This review is from: Sing, Pierrot, Sing (Paperback)
In this wordless storybook, Tomie De Paola, the beloved creator of Strega Nona, illustrates the classic triangle between the lovelorn Pierrot, the winsome Columbine, and her true love, the mischevious Harlequin. What Pierrot cannot find in Columbine's heart, he finds in the children who implore him to sing with them. I have read this book with my two-year old, and she delights in finding the story for herself. I love that she is being introduced to the world of Commedia dell'arte, but doesn't care, all she knows is that she is happy and sad and happy with her "Pierrot".
