About the Author

Al Bermudez Pereira, born in Brooklyn, New York, currently resides in Florida with his wife, Lydia, and their two children. He worked as a corrections officer for many years within Sing Sing State Prison and learned many valuable lessons during his career. Al Bermudez Pereira decided to write this book at the urgings of his mother some fifteen years ago. In addition to writing he enjoys carpentry, automobiles, and music.

I received a complimentary copy of Sing Sing State Prison; One Day, One Lifetime as a member of the Dorrance Publishing Book Review Team. I found this book to raw and honest. The author was a correction officer at New York's infamous Sing Sing State Prison. He takes the reader through a journey of eye opening experiences. I experienced a range of emotions from humorous to shocking while reading this book. I found Sing Sing State Prison; One Day, One Lifetime a fascinating read and I came away with a much deeper respect for correction officers.
