This is a great toy for any child that loves music. It is durable, easy to use, has good sound, and the flashing lights timed to each instrument fascinate my son. The only thing that was difficult was finding where to insert the batteries as there were no instructions in our box that indicated how this was done. So, if you don't get any instructions just look for the on-off switch on one of the edges and find the screw at the end of the purple panel. Unscrew this screw and you will find a very ingenious slot for three AA batteries inserted lengthwise into the cube. Have fun - my son and I are having a blast with this toy!

My children and I love this toy. I bought it for my baby boy, but my 2 year old can't stop playing with it. Each side features another instrument, and you add or subtract that instrument by pressing the side. It is great to listen to each sound individually and then have the instruments play together. We love the flute. The music is wonderful. My son (3 months old) can start the music just by kicking the cube -- I leave it by his foot so he can kick it easily. This is a terrrific musical toy!

I purchased this toy for my 1 year old nephew for Christmas. My sister said he loved it so much she has to pack it whenever they travel from home. The problem, when I saw her late January the cube had big rubberbands holding it together! It still worked but had been dropped and had cracked. I would think a toy made for that age group would be more durable.

I bought this for my daughter when she was 8 months old. She instantly loved it. She is now 20 months and still plays it everyday. Kids and adults come over and they all love it, too. The kids learned extremely fast how to push the squares to make each instrument play or all play at once. They are familiar with all the kid songs this box plays so they all get to singing and dancing and doing the hokey pokey or itsy bitsy spider, etc. The music quality is very good. The instruments sound like what they are supposed to be and not some electronics. This is my child's and her friends' favorite music toy of all that we own, and we have a lot (keyboards, crawl and cruise, tape players, pop up singing animals, etc.). I highly recommend it.

I wrote a glowing review for the Mozart Cube and was delighted when a relative sent this one as a gift for my 18-month-old. He actually prefers this one now, because he's learning to sing the songs it features. My only complaint may be a bug in my particular cube -- on "Old MacDonald" and "BINGO," the different orchestral parts are just slightly out of time with one another, growing more so as the song progresses. I'm a musician, so it annoys me dreadfully, but I'm sure my baby doesn't care. He loves it.

This music cube is a fabulous baby toy. Aside from the gymfinity, this is the best toy we received. Our infant began playing with this toy as soon as he could sit up and he loves it, as does his older brother. The large buttons are easy for even the smallest of babies to hit and the sounds are not too annoying for adults. I highly recommend this toy!

This toy is one of our son's favorite toys. It goes everywhere with him. The battery compartment broke on the toy shortly after he received it. We bound the broken area and our son still loved it. I gave the toy a high durabiliy rating because I called the company (1-800-344-2229) and they sent a replacement battery door to us quickly. We also have the Mozart Magic Cube and it is equally beloved.

My son receieved a Mozart cube when he was 1, and after six months we bought this cube.I prefer this one as there are more songs. He is mesmerized with the cube and plays with one or both for hours. At night he lays on the bed watching the lights as the various instruments play. I would recommend this to anyone. I am blown away that something so simple fascinates him so!

I've had this toy since 2001 when my daughter was 6 months old. She loved it then and she loves it now... and she can sing with it now too! (which makes it better than the mozart cube that her cousin has) Her little brother (15 months) loves it just as much, but he's really tested it's durablility and it finally gave out. I'm a home care P.T. and I've also used it during my treatment sessions for the kids that love music - it's been dropped, kicked, sat on, stepped on, left in the car in 20 degree and 90 degree weather, and it just wouldn't die... until now. I'm getting another one for the kids for Christmas. This in one I would DEFINITELY buy again!

My daughter loved this toy. She loved pressing the different buttons and experimenting with the different instruments. Unfortunately, on our particular cube, the flute played somewhat slower than all the other instruments, so that when you heard the instruments together, the music always sounded wrong, which drove me up a wall. I would recommend purchasing this in a store and testing the exact unit before buying.
