3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointed... November 14, 2011
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I had been waiting for this game to come out for a while, and when it finally did I was quite excited. When I brought it home, I was a little disappointed. Sing4 definitely has some hits, but the variety isn't the best for all users. I always research for a song list, so I was prepared. I liked the songs, which is partly why I wanted it. The songs weren't the problem, it was the game itself. I've never played a Wii game that had such horrible graphics. No, I'm not a game freak who literally takes a magnifying-glass to count each pixel, but this game literally started to hurt my eyes it was so blurry. That's especially not good in a game where you're constantly reading lyrics. The game is also not widescreen, so if you have a widescreen TV (which most people do) there will be two black bars on both sides of your screen.

Sing4 is still fun to play because of the songs. It's also the first Wii karaoke game that allows you to download additional songs for $2 a song (using Wii points). Although, so far their "online store" only has about 10 songs. Hopefully, there will be more soon. So, considering the game, the songs, and the extras, I think it's worth getting as long as something like cheap-looking graphics doesn't bother you. The game itself plays really nice, and it's fun (Though, a little more difficult than your average, say, Karaoke Revolution).

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Designed and No Service December 26, 2011
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
My kid was really looking forward to getting this game.
What a disappointment.
There is a 3/4 sec-1 sec delay between what you sing and what is heard and detected within the game.
It's frustrating enough to hear your voice emit from the speakers later than you are singing (sounds awful...) and frustrating that the game incorrectly detects your singing as late so your score is always poor.
The game idea is a good one. Picture "Guitar Hero" for the voice. You sing as the notes appear on the screen, and along with the track. If you're on time and in tune you get points.
But this is an impossible task because everything you sing is heard through the speakers and detected by the game as late. (and because your note is landing later than it should, on the wrong note, the game thinks you are singing out of tune.)
Now for what really throws my review down to a 1 star rating:
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, gang!
That's right. NONE!
Go to the Crave Games web site and you'll see a friendly offering of a support email address and telephone number. Nice right? Just what you want to see when you are having a problem with a product.
Don't even bother!
The address is a dead one. Your lengthy e-mail for support will just bounce back within seconds.
Companies that do this automatically get a bad rating from me.
If I COULD reach them I would say, HOW DARE YOU?!!
But you can't even call them! Call the number listed, start to leave a message and you are disconnected before you can announce your name.
So, bottom line:
Poorly designed game + No customer service = 1 STAR!
If I could give less I would.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I ordered this game along with Karaoke Revolution, Karaoke Rev. Glee Vol. 1, and American Idol Encore 1. For teens who want a modern song list, this is the best game out of the four. It is a tad harder than the other games, but we kind of felt they were way too easy. You can hum your way through all the other games and be fine as long as you hit the bars you are fine, but this one is harder to cheat on. Me and my young teen nephew have had so much fun playing this. I will say that the Pitch Correction doesn't work so well and with the playback feature it sounds somewhat distorted. We took our Ipod Touch and recorded ourselves instead and we sounded pretty good, nothing like how the game records. Over all, yes it has flaws and It would be really awesome if you could play online with other friends, but it is the best overall Karaoke game out right now for the Wii. It is also the only game I have found that had where you can download more songs online with Wii Points, but like others have said it is very very limited to song choices. Out of the 4 games we got in order this is how I would rank them 1. Sing 4 2. KR American Idol Encore 1 3. Karaoke Revolution 4. KR Glee Vol. 1 ( The Glee game is just not as fun as I thought it would be and there is not that much to do on it).

2.0 out of 5 stars not for youngsters December 29, 2011

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
This is a fun activity except that I did not investigate whether the clips of the artists would be on it. They are and they are inappropriate for children 8-9 years old, particularly because of the way women are portrayed (like on so many modern music videos which I ban).

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless for learning to sing January 9, 2012
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I can't sing. I got this game hoping that the feedback would help me learn on my own. For this purpose, it is useless. It tells you if your notes are correct or not, but not whether they are too high or too low.

The Wii edition seems to be a bad port from some other platform with different resolution, because much of the text is so blurry as to be illegible. After finishing a song, you get a score of six or so digits (Out of what? Is that good?) and a rating of <squints at screen> Svirfneblin? Huh?

The best thing thing that can be said about this game is that it contains a good selection of recent pop songs ... but they are strange "clean" versions where the lyrics don't have the same number of syllables as the original. (This is even stranger given that the T rating warns of "partial nudity".)

The producers of this game obviously spent all their money on song licenses and did all the coding in one drunken all-nighter.

2.0 out of 5 stars Little echo no matter what setting is set.
I did not enjoy this as much as American Idol. The music is low and the echo of the voice with the microphone is distracting. I even tried another microphone. Read more
