Amazon.com Review
When Isaac Singer invented his first sewing machine in Boston in 1850, little did he foresee the range of home machines available today. Model 3343 offers just the right amount of bells and whistles to satisfy advanced sewers, without scaring away novices. Traditionally rectangular in form, the free-arm machine offers 43 stitch functions, with 30 built-in stitch patterns (numbered discs included), making embroidered and decorative designs a snap. The 30 designs are also illustrated and numbered right on the machine body for quick reference. Other convenient features include stitch width and length selectors, push-button reverse, four-position buttonhole system, top drop-in bobbin, easy threading system, 3-position needle selector, extra-wide zigzag capability (6 mm), and twin needle capability. Seven presser feet are included: all-purpose, straight stitch, buttonhole, button sewing, zipper, special purpose (zigzag and decorative), and blindstitch hem. Accessories can be stored in the accompanying box, and include three bobbins (transparent for thread monitoring), seven needles, oil bottle, and various extra parts. Illustrated with black-and-white drawings, the owners manual is written in English, Spanish, and French. While it has a sewing light, the 3343, which measures 15-1/2 by 11 by 7-1/2 inches, does not have a carry handle. Singer covers the sewing machine with a graduated warranty: 90-day adjustment and limited parts, two-year electrical, and 25-year mechanical.
