The marks are not appearing on the fabric when you use a tracing wheel.
Maura Cooseelal
No matter how hard I press with the tracing wheel, it doesn't transfer the markings through the layers.
Belinda Schuler
It wasn't what I needed but the performance of the product worked well.

I ordered this for a sewing class because I didn't have time to drive to a sewing store to get some. My complaint here is not with Amazon, my order was filled and delivered promptly and in time for my class. However, this tracing paper was horrible! It didn't even work and I had to borrow some from someone else. The markings were so pale they were unreadable. Then when I did make it to the store, I found the unwaxed tracing paper (much better) for $3.99! Not only was this product unusable and a waste of money, it was WAY overpriced! Save yourself and go to the store!

My overall impression of this product is that it works well with some fabric types. The package includes one yellow, one red and two waxy (6 1/2"x 19 1/2")white and light blue sheets. Keeping in mind that the color to be used must be as close as possible to the color of the fabric, I first thought that the marks were not clear. Upon using a fluorescent bulb, however, they were all quite visible except for the red. They seemed to work best on cotton blends even satin that had solid colors but not as well on variegated or stretch material. What is great is that the marks did not come off accidentally such as when my hand brushed against the fabric. To remove the colors I hand washed with soap and water but am yet to test it with the machine. I would not use it on any expensive material that cannot be washed therefore, and would opt to use chalk or other methods of tracing for that. All in all,a satisfactory product for home sewing needs.

This is my preferred tracing paper. It seems to ne a cross between waxed and chalk tracing paper. I have plenty of wax-free (chalk) tracing paper and I find that with repeated handling, the marks can rub off your fabric easily. It takes me forever to finish anything, so I need marks with staying power. I find the marks made with this tracing paper show up and stay put nicely.

With that said, I haven't had any problems getting marks from this paper out, but even with the wax-free paper YOU SHOULD TEST IT ON A SAMPLE FIRST. No one wants to ruin their fabric with tracing marks. I haven't been sewing long enough to know for sure, but I get the impression this tracing paper is not the same as the waxed paper of old. I was watching a clip from Threads Magazine and I think they said waxed tracing paper had been discontinued because it was notorious for ruining fabric.

My only complaint about this product is the lack of vibrant colors when compared to wax-free tracing paper. The blue and the red are not as deep/dark as their wax-free counterparts. You can also find this at one of the national craft and sewing chain for under $4.00.

I highly recommend this product.

Not satisfied with product. The tracing paper is not working well at all. The marks are not appearing on the fabric when you use a tracing wheel. Very disappointed and I have also encouraged some of my friends to buy. Please review this product.

This tracing paper is very light weight and flimsy; plus, the colors are too light to show well on the fabric. Don't waste your money on this product. Go find something decent.

Do not order this paper. I tried to use this paper on a sewing project yesterday and it does not work. I was sewing with blue fabric. I tried to use the white paper, and it did not work. Then I tried the rest of the colors and they did not work. I ended up having to use a marking pen instead. This was a waste of money.

Does not leave marks on the fabricso what is the point? No worry about washing it out. It never marked on the fabric in the first place.

I recently dusted off my old sewing machine to start making some of my own clothes again. The tracing paper that I had for years was used so many times, you couldn't see the lines on the fabric. The sheets sold at the fabric store were had a 'waxy' finish and didn't transfer color to the fabric at all, so I returned them. I figure I'd try to do with I had, even though it was so used it was like tissue paper! By accident, I found the Singer Dressmaker's Tracing Paper on Amazon while looking for something else. It works fantastic - I'm so happy I added it to my cart!
