Nice selection for heavy duty uses.

Worst needles ever, broke my thread 10 times I could have sewed my projects better with a thorn from outside.

This needle selection works great for that type of application.

These were advertised as heavy duty needles, one specificaly for leather, and I've already broken 3 of them. They might have been suited for cotton, lycra, something like that, but denim would be too much for them. Granted, I was working with leather, but it was very light leather, not saddle leather or anything, just suede and some upholstery.

I agree with the previous post about these not being heavy duty. I was in a rush and ordered 2 packs. They arrived promptly - in time for my return to my boat overseas. I use the needles to "whip" the ends of sailboat rope (called "line" in nautical terms). I brought some new line back with me, along with the needles. When I tried the first one, the eye soon broke with virtually no sideways pressure on it. I was just pulling light waxed thread straight through the new 1/4" "yacht braid" line. When I went to remove a second needle from the package, I noticed it's eye was already broken. I'm sure the seller would let me return them but that's not convenient for me now.

BTW, I bought these to replace a nearly identical looking package of 7 with the company name, Dritz, on the package. I had bought them many years ago. They had held up well after many uses over the years.

Not even one star, I had to give them at least one to write this. Worst needles ever, broke my thread 10 times I could have sewed my projects better with a thorn from outside.

The needles are fine only because they were relatively inexpensive. But they are good only for general cotton fabrics. I tried them on denim and the needle bent out of shape. If it cannot work on denim, I wouldn't call it heavy duty really.

The small amount of sewing I do is always by hand. Using the small store-bought needle packs always ends up with me losing or breaking those needles. These are TOUGH, and I can push these through thick fabric (pockets and the like) without worrying about them bending/breaking. The eyes are quite large, and are a big help in easily threading them. Affordable price as far as I'm concerned.

I purchased the Singer Heavy Duty Assorted Hand Needles, 7-Count for my emergency kit. So far the needles have held up very well and perform to my expectations. I like the assortment which I can use for a variety of different tasks. None of the needles have bent or broken and appear to be holding up very well. It is always a good idea to have extra needles on hand especially since they are so small and lightweight.

I used the smaller curved needle to repair jeans. I iron on a larger patch on the inside and then hand sew around the perimeter with Coates and Clark all purpose Dual Duty plus. No problem, thread is not a heavy duty and I just did the repair last night, so will have to see if it holds. But, the needle worked fine, POINT COULD HAVE BEEN SHARPER.
