I purchased this for my daughter who is just learning to sew. She had no problems following directions to make some nice pillows with zippers. It also covers bedding, curtains and tablecloths, welting, gathering, zippers and fabrics. The book assumes no prior knowledge so was just the thing for her. This book does duplicate a lot of the basic material covered in the "Singer Simple Guide to Sewing" which is for garments. Had I know this, I could have just purchased this home decor book for her.
