The Singer and the Song Get Along,

I recently found Labi Siffre through Pandora Internet Radio and had to find this CD. I went to every music store hoping to find a copy of this album, even the speciallty music stores out in Berkeley with all of the imported CD's. Unfortunately I was unable to find it so I ordered it from Amazon and I couldn't be happier. The songs on this album are very good. They have great arrangements, great messages, and are all around great songs. Labi Siffre is a very talented artist who doesn't seem to get too much recognition in the US even though his music has been sampled on Eminem & Kayne West albums. I highly recommend this album to any singer/songwriter or anyone who can appreciate an honest, soulful love song.

I purchased Singer & Song primarily for the songs "There's Nothing In the World Like Love" and "Bless the Telephone". Being relatively new to Labi Siffre's music, I wasn't sure what to expect. Was I surprised! Labi has such a broad range, from blues, to country, to jazz and pop---and he does it so well! Few artists are able to successfully merge so many styles. I LOVE the love ballads "Seasons Come, Seasons Go", "Til Nighttime Comes Along"(which is very Michael Jackson-esque), and "Shadow Of Our Love". Enjoyed every song on the CD. Will be purchasing more recordings by Labi in the future. What else can I say? I just plain love Labi Siffre!
