Each book in this series chooses several songs from musical theatre. The accompaniment is always accurate and true to the original score. The ranges are correct for each song as it was originally written, not transposed from one range to another. Some of the selections are different. You are not buying another round of the same songs you already have. A nice to a musician's library.

I am not sorry that I purchased this anthology since I've used it on many occasions for vocal students. However, I tend to use the same song over and over because some of the other selections are very difficult and long. I suppose if you had really advanced students it would be an excellent choice. Also, if you are using it yourself for performance, and are in love with the contents, the same would apply. I will say that the accompaniment CDS (purchased separately) are really helpful and nicely done.

With all the talk about "Wicked" these days, I would have thought that the selections from that show would have been more melodic. Anyway, it still is a decent book, and is useful.
