This CD is not music in the usual sense ....it is a soundscape of healing vibrations. I really think the composer,Thea Surasu, knows his stuff. My wife and I meditate twice a day. We usually listen to it while meditating in the afternoons. I find that it really helps me focus, and cut out some of that constant mental chatter which is so distracting. Thank you Thea.

I recieved this CD recently, and i am very happy with it. Thea Surasu has done an absolutely wonderful job of keeping the sound continuously beautiful and calming, unlike some other so called "meditation" recordings i have heard. This CD puts me into a state of deep relaxation, and i have noticed that i loose all track of time. I would recomend following the suggestion in the liner notes about listening simultaneously on headphones and speakers. Just make sure that the volume of either one is not so high that you can't hear the other, and also that when the headphones are on your ears, you can still hear the speakers through them. This adds wonderful depth to the sound, and really enhances the effect. The harmonic overtones of the bowls are wonderful, and sometimes concentrating on one of them is all i need to relax. Thea also does a great job with timing the strokes of the bowls and continuous harmonics with changes at the right time. In the course of the symphony, you will feel that there are certain sounds that really aid in concentration, and Thea dwells on them for the appropriate period of time. Overall a very well done work! Thea will bring you to a place of static, soothing relaxation. The music is specially helpful for those with Monkey minds and is amazing when used with headphones (I highly recommend this). You can hear Thea's breathing but it is very soft and unoticeable once you focus on the sound of the bowls. I don't find that it interferes with the music. I have also used the music for centering, chakra alingment, and healing and it works great. Be prepared to leave the world behind when you turn the music on!

Thea Surasu is obviously a master of his art. He possesses the sensitive ability to lure from them a deep, warm, sustained wave of sound that bathes the soul with the beauty of it's own reverberating essence. For those who truly value the gifting of Tibetan Bowls for healing, energizing, alignment, and sheer joy, this piece of work is a must. Thea Surasu has the midas touch with sound, and the experience is one of melting into gold. Thank you Steven Halpern for being in the right place at the right time, and for recognizing such a gift!

This CD is just powerful in its simplicity. The purity of the bowls brings something rare. it is just clear vibrational healing. nJOY! Sarah Sanctuary The Sacred Pyramid

The strength of this CD is its purity - there are no other instruments used on this recording. Only the sounds of Singing Bowls. However, as much as Thea Surasu allows the vibration of the Singing Bowls to stretch out to a complete fade away, there are large gaps of silence between bowl sounds. These gaps often exceed about 30 seconds or longer, and they are frequent - Just when I get to the point that I am used to the singing bowl vibrations, they stop. Just when I get used to the silence, it stops. The back-and-forth keeps me from being able to meditate with these sounds.

The vibrations of the bowls is stretched out to such an extent that only about 10% of the sound comes through the 6-speaker audio in my car! Thus, don't expect much from this CD unless you have a good-quality stereo.

So, it's no good in the car, and doesn't work for me in mediation. ... Frankly, I expected more from Steven Halpern!
