4.0 out of 5 stars Good marks for the feature laden SMG320
The Good: The SMG320 supports a satellite speaker which doubles the power of the unit and creates a true stereo sound. The digital key control and echo system are clean and useful. The remote control is very handy and controls most karaoke and CD features (not the cassettes however). It's a good value and it's hard to find a comparable unit in the same price. Line out on...

2.0 out of 5 stars sound fair/quality of unit poor
We bought this for our 11 year old daughter for christmas. The microphone is real not some cheesy plastic thing but the unit itself is not well made. The two cassette player doors don't align just right and feel like they could break at any moment. The CD that came with it was scratched and had ... songs on it. The sound quality was fair but not worth the price. I am...

Line out on rear allows you to hook it up to a larger sound system.

The bad: Not for the very young. It's too heavy and too complicated for children to use (Singing Machine says it's a semi-pro model) Volume control on unit is tricky to use. Not all remote functions are duplicated on the front panel.

In Summary: This is a pretty good karaoke for the family or small groups. I like the overall mix and sound quality of the unit as well as the styling of the cabinet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Professional sound for the amateur, October 10, 2001

GREAT Machine! After researching the consumer karaoke market for a few months, I decided on The Singing Machine. I'm thrilled with the machine- well worth the money. I sing at nursing homes and adult care centers and participate in local karaoke competitions. The automatic voice cancel feature is great for learning new music. The remote control makes it so easy to switch tracks without having to walk back to the machine.

In larger rooms, I hook up the Singing Machine to the PA system using the Auxiliary Out connection. Its so easy for me to operate. I had one question when I first got my Singing Machine home and the customer service people were friendly and knowledgeable.

The sound quality was fair but not worth the price. I am wondering if the STVG700 model with the monitor built in is any better? My husband and I debated over the SMG320 and the STVG700. I just can't help but wonder if we made the wrong choice or if both units are poor quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars I absolutly love it!, November 6, 2001

I absolulty love it because it is so easy to use. I use it as a cd player, tape player, I also like to sing on it with my friends and family. The sound is so clear I never hear any buzzing or funny noises. I learn so many songs on it all the time. The controls are so great because I can change the pitch to my range and the microphone volume to my comfort. Also the remote control is great to becasue it comes in so handy. If you are just starting out singing I would definetly recomend this for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Singing Machine Piece Of Crap, December 7, 2004

This review is from: Singing Machine SMG-320 Tray-Load CD+Graphics Karaoke System (Electronics)
I have bought 2 Karaoke machines from Singing Machine. The first machines CD player would pause in the middle of songs for no reason then eventually woulnt play a CD. I sent it back to the manufacture which cost alot of money to ship and 60.00 dollars to fix. They discontinued my model so they shipped me a newer model of mine. I thought this was great until a few months after I used it. The same thing happened. CD player skips in the middle of songs and pauses for no reason. Microphone Inputs wont work. Their a piece of junk. Please dont waste your money like I did. Playschool could make a better Karaoke Machine than Singing Machine. Ill never buy another one from them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware - This Machine is Junk!, April 20, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Singing Machine SMG-320 Tray-Load CD+Graphics Karaoke System (Electronics)
We loved our machine--for the first 2 months. Then it suddenly stopped playing songs, and in some cases failing to recognize discs. After sending it back for warranty replacement, the new machine lasted only 1 DAY! This time it wouldn't even recognize discs at all! If I bother to send it back I will have paid nearly as much in shipping as I did to buy the original machine.
