I bought this machine new and sixty days later something happened to the microphone input (really loud feedback whenever you plug any microphones into the unit, I tried many different microphones but couldn't remedy this problem). This is where things got bad. I called the company and they said I would need the receipt to request repair work. I couldn't find it but I come across it 30 days later and now they refuse to repair the machine under warranty (I will have to pay $60, plus shipping both ways for service). Apparantly, the unit only has a paltry 90 day warranty. (With only a 90 warranty, even Singing Machine doesn't doesn't think much of the quality of their own units.) In any event, their service staff wasn't at all accomodating or helpful. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Find a better brand with a better warranty.

Machine worked fine for about the first 3 months. Didn't really use it that much during that time. After 3 months(coincidentally the same amount of time the worthless warranty covers) the machine began a process of self destruction, getting worse each time I tried to use it! The ONLY thing on it that now works is talking through the mike! I'm sure that will cease to work too. Basically a piece of junk. The maker must know this too or else they'd offer a REAL warranty! Buy ONLY if you enjoy THROWING YOUR MONEY AWAY!!

What a crock. My machine conked out a week after the 90 day warranty expired. To get it repaired I have to ship it to CA (I live in FL). The shipping charges and minimum cost of repair is more than I paid for the machine.

I bought my machine, and am having a lot of problems with
the cd sticking in the middle of a song... the cd's play
fine on other machines - am trying to sort this out right
now but from the rankings, it seems you either get a wonderful one that works perfectly or you get a lemon? High price
to pay if you're the one that gets the lemon?

I bought the SMG320 Tray Load CD model, which is a more expensive model that the SMG268, as a Christmas present. It did not work. Hence the one star.

This karoake is the top best one ever and not a bad price either. So if you want a nice karoake machine this is the one to get.

This Singing Machine has Key Controller for adjusting to you range, remote control and a bunch of other stuff that's great. We use it in our family room and the kids take it to parties- its a hit. Singing Machine has lots of music too though you can't buy anything directly through them.

We love the machine and are considering getting another one when our oldest child takes this one away to college.
