Our first one was purchased at Walmart, and after a couple hours of use the screen started blurring the words and was shakey. We had to return it, and ordered it again from Amazon. We have had this one for a month now and love everything about it. My 8-yr-old also likes the added disco lights. I wish the screen could be in color, but for the price I can't really complain. I recommend getting a second microphone to go with it.

I purchased this for our family for Christmas. It came in on time and looks exactly like the picture. The only problem I have expereienced is that the CD door sometimes does not go in all the way. I didn't want to spend more money on returning it so I just give it a gentle push when it snags. LOVE THE DISCO LIGHTS they are ahoot.

I have bought about 3 kids karaoke machines for kids now. I bought a hannah montana and a Jonas Brothers machine before this one. (One for each kid). This karaoke machine is by far the best of the bunch. All of my kids fight over this one. Word of advice, if you are going to get multiple karaoke machines for your kids, just get multiple of THIS MACHINE. My kids singing abiilties are getting better everyday, and they are absolutely loving the disco lights.

Well, this is my first ever negative review, so here goes...

Against my better judgement after reading the reviews, I bought this item. It came in time for my 7 year old's birthday, and, you guessed it, it didn't work. Allow me to clarify: the lights worked, but the cd player did not. The package insert says *not* to return it to the place of purchase, but to instead contact the manufacturer, the singing machine. I called multiple times, when the automated answering system picks up, you can speak to NO LIVE PERSON, and when you attempt to leave a message you are systematically disconnected.

I gave up and emailed customer service. Here was their reply, "Hi Kris, Thank you for contacting The Singing Machine. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing a problem with your machine. Please ensure to reset the machine by turning it off and unplugging it for a few minutes and try different CD's or CDG's. The quickest way to replace the product is to return to the original retailer or online retailer." That's all well and good but troubleshooting tips in the package had already instructed me to do so, and I tested multiple cds. I'd already exhausted every logical fix before contacting support. Simply put, the cd player would not turn on! In fact, the cd player wouldn't recognize ANY cd at all. I tested about 10. The door wouldn't close correctly and the digital display was consistently displaying two lines, indicating that it wasn't reading the disk at all. It was simply not spinning. Of course, I tested the cds and they played in a kid's cd player, my cd player, a truck's cd player, and the bluray player attached to our tv.

The good part (and the only reason the item got any stars at all)Amazon to the rescue!

Fortunately for me, I bought from Amazon. When I contacted them, they sent me another right away, bringing a smile to a 7 yr old's face! Yay, Amazon, you guys rock! The second one works so far, but I'm completely jaded. I wouldn't ever buy another or recommend it to a friend.

Until Dyson makes a Karaoke machine, they are all poor quality and very fragile and tempermental. If you must purchase one, buy way in advance and test it before you destroy a holiday and gift for your child. They are incredibly poor quality with little maufacturer support. Boo!

I spent a long time considering whether to get this machine or another model for my kids. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. The machine works great and is very easy to use. It is compact and easy to carry. The lights and disco balls are too cute. I know my kids are going to love this. I hate karaoke and I just spent an hour playing with it. FYI it comes with a cd of 5 songs (w/vocals and a version of each without). You can play regular CD's also so this is good for kids who can't read and need to sing with vocals.

We had this for a about 2 months and then it stopped playing CD's. Of course the return window had expired but it had only been 3 months with minimal use. Cute lights are fun but not worth the money!!! BOOOOO.

Everything works great - lights, ball, screen, mic, speakers, CD player...no issues at all. Yes, it's not a professional sound console and the mic input volume could be a little higher, but it is no issue at all. My kid loves it. And she's been taking it to a friend's house, around our house in different rooms, dropped it a couple of times and still working fine.

I bought this for my daughter's 7th birthday. The disc started skipping within an hour and the volume buttons kept sticking. I do not recommend this player. The disco ball was also noisey when turning.

Never got to use it. Power and lights (BTW-pretty cool) worked, as did the mic. However, the CD drawer would NOT open. Never got to use it, vendor had no replacements, manufacturer was not easy to reach. Finally gave up and returned for a full refund.

Purchased this for an 8 yr old birthday. She immediately loved it for the disco lights and having the words on the screen. You do not need a tv to use this machine so she can use it right in her bedroom and practice alone. When we are having a party she can attach it to the tv. We used this product 2 times and it stopped working. The CD tray will not open and it will not play. The power is on and the lights work but the whole right side of the machine is broken. I have contacted customer service since it is now beyond the 30 day return policy. I would have returned it sooner but we were on vacation all of July. I'm not sure i even want the same product if it breaks that easily.
